Oh I really don't like this episode.
So it's pretty obvious that Beast Boy tells jokes to impress others and get attention. But this is the first episode where we really see him being desperate for it.
The problem is it's just so overplayed in this episode and every single moment for Beast Boy is just so embarrassing for me to watch, especially when he's interacting withe Aqualad. But when he's interacting with his teammates it's actually funny. Plus it wasn't built up in further episode how self-centered Beast Boy can be.
I thought it was kind of ironic that Beast Boy came out of the water right when Raven got flustered over Aqualad.
