Music brings hearts together...

[Alex's POV]
I woke up a bit early the following morning. I did a quick jog around the area to familiarize myself with all the establishments around the bar. I also found a park nearby, and thought I'll be heading there more often to exercise every now and then.
When I got back, I went by the bar and found Aunt Renee busy working with the staff.
"Oh! Good morning kiddo! Good timing, let me introduce you to the staff..." She gestured me to come over with the crowd seated across the tables in front of her.
"Everyone, this is Alex - my nephew. He'll be working as a waiter for tonight's opening. But I might have him work with Jana on the cashier in the future.." She pointed to the shy girl sitting at a table on her right. She looks about a year or two older than me.
"Alex, these are my staff. Jana will be working on the cashier. We have Jake and Terry as our bartenders. Then there's Tom, Lucy and Jenna waiting tables. The kitchen crew are already inside preparing food for the opening tonight. They're Juan and Antonio..." She said as she finished introducing the bar's staff.
After the introductions, some more came from the front door. I noticed it was Trevor, along with other people with him. This might be his other bandmates.
"Yo' morning Renee!" Trevor greeted Aunt Renee. I noticed how casual he was in front of her, like they're siblings or something...
"Don't 'Yo' me you nitwad! I'm still your manager! And why are you here so early?" Aunt Renee storms off to yell at Trevor who seems to be smirking even when he's being yelled at...
"Yeah, about that. I wanna ask you if we can borrow Alex as our vocalist for tonight's opening. I kinda heard him sing when he was wandering here last night after I finished setting up the equipment. With Liz gone and all..." He trailed off, then looked at me with a wide smirk on his face.
"What?!" Aunt Renee turned to me with a scrunched up smirk. That's already a hint for me that she's irritated about what she heard just now.
"Uhm, I thought I check out the place last night before heading to bed. I did not notice he was there when I was wandering here last night..." I explained as if I was a ten year-old who was at fault for doing something bad.
After a few moments of silence, Aunt Renee approached me and whispered, "Do you really wanna do it sweetie? You know how risky it'll be if someone connected to your father shows up tonight..." She explained with a bit of worry now showing on her tone.
"That's okay Aunt Renee. He kinda looked desperate last night. And I haven't practiced singing since deciding to runaway..." I told her.
"Okay sweetie. Just make sure to keep your disguise for tonight. So far no one seems to notice who you are. Seems our makeover is paying off..." She gave me a thumbs up and walked back to Trevor and his band.
"It's settled then. Now go, I know you guys are here so you can practice in case I agreed to this, right?" She said.
I noticed how Trevor was relieved and then smiling. The band then approached me to introduce themselves.
"Hi there. I'm Keith, I'm the band's drummer. This guy here is Eaton, on bass, while that one's Lana on keyboard." Said Keith as the rest of the band was walking towards the stage to start the practice session.
"Hey. I got you a list of the songs we usually play. I also have the lyrics printed out just in case..." Says Trevor as he handed me the paper.
Looking at the songs, most of them I'm familiar with. The genre is mostly pop rock, which is just fine with me.
