Got to stay on key, the tone should match me

That's what we need, to be in harmony...

[Alex's POV]

It's been a week now and everything has been surprisingly smooth sailing for me...

Since the so-called 'agreement' between Trevor and James, they have been getting along just fine. If I never knew these two I would think they were friends!

I'm at the supermarket right now, pushing my cart along as the two of them chatted behind me. I can somehow sense that these two are testing me right now as if they have made a bet about something. Oh well, the peace and quiet in the apartment have been a welcome feeling. Taking a break is also helpful at times.

We are now at the meat section, and I turned around to the boys because I need to ask what they wanna eat for dinner.

"Trev, James? What are we cooking for dinner tonight?" I asked both of them, prompting them to walk toward me.

"How about some steak? I haven't eaten those for a while now..." Trevor answered.

"How about you Alex, craving for anything?" James then asked me back.

"I'm okay with the steak, presuming that you guys will cook. I want some broccoli to go with that..." I confirmed with them. And as simple as that, we finished up with everything else we needed and headed back home.

I forgot to mention, it seems that both Trevor and James agreed that I should not be driving. So Trevor is still driving the Mercedes that Aunt Renee lent to me with James calling shotgun. He said that I should just stay in the back seat so I can get comfortable. I guess James' quirks being my bodyguard have not waned off from him.

After dinner, Trevor and I returned to working on tomorrow night's songs. Aunt Renee asked us to include some popular songs to attract more people to the bar. Most of the songs were songs that worked way back when I was still starting as a singer for the label.

While I was going over the list James walked to the couches to join us. He picks up a piece of paper from the pile of songs on the coffee table.

"Wait, I remember this song! You were singing this when I first joined your security detail." James excitedly handed me the paper.

"Oh yeah... I remember this too. They wanted me to try all sorts of genres to see which one will suit me best. Are the people still into this song nowadays?" I asked James.

"Well, there will always be some songs that are just hard to forget. I really thought back then that you will make a cover of this song. Just think about now that you've even matured with your signing..." James reassured, like a 10-year-old who looks like he was excited to ask for that toy at the mall.

I pondered about it for a moment. "Okay, James. I will add this to the playlist for tomorrow. Hopefully, I can get it right still..." I then added the song to the pile I separated that includes the songs we will show the band for practice tomorrow.

[Trevor's POV]

I was just about to go outside the room to let Alex know I'm done with the showers when I heard how much they were having fun outside. It seems that Alex chose a song picked by James.

I know I made an agreement with James about not going after Alex for a while. But the idea of being unable to just hold his hand is starting to take its toll on me...
