"dad...?" i whisper. i struggle to escape his grasp. he drops the knife and lets me go. jack quickly hugs me to make sure he doesn't take me again.
"kaylee sweetheart.. im sorry," my 'father' says.
"you bitch! left me at four, now you wanna come back into my life? you're just going to make it worse!" i state. "I'm never going back to that last name, Wilson. it has criminals in the family."
"kaylee, your name is Kaylee Mae Wilson and you're going to keep it that way!" he raises his voice. i jump back with fear.
"i believe it's Seavey, not 'Wilson' im sorry," Daniel says walking out of a corner. the rest of the boys emerge from the shadows. wow that's not creepy at all. i see corbyn appear and stand behind him.
"kaylee.. -" before he could say more i kicked him in the di-dinker. we all run out of the house and file into the car. i ended up being squished by the biggest boys of them all, corbyn and jonah. zach takes the middle and jack takes the front while daniel drives.
corbyn puts his arm around me to comfort me. i rest my head on his shoulder and fell asleep.

we arrive back at the boys house and end up having a fun night. It was just the night before the new years party. I had already bought my other two best friends plane tickets. Leah and Stephanie. Daniel had told me i could invite anyone, so i invited maddy, riley, leah, and steph. leah and stephanie should be arriving tomorrow morning. i laugh as i watch daniel act out his mystery animal.
"penguin!" jack shouts.
"ah.. a bear?!" jonah guesses.
"OH OH! I KNOW I KNOW!" corbyn yells jumping up and down. "a gorilla," Daniel laughs and shakes his head.
"An owl?" i raise an eyebrow just guessing.
"actually..." daniel laughs. "yeah!" everyone cheers at my victory. i walk outside to catch some fresh air. i had just remembered the paper corbyn had slipped into my pocket the other day. i take it out and unfold it. i read the note,
"how bout i pick you up at nine? Saturday January 6,"
i smile and had the perfect way to say yes to this. •

i smile at my phone and put it into my pocket. I heard the door open but I didn't turn around. i was too busy admiring the beautiful L.A sunset. then i feel someones arms wrap around me and hug me from behind.
