oh but i fear we are running out of time
...
Namjoon felt his entire body stiffen. He did not expect this, he really didn't. His slightly constricting throat wasn't doing anything to support him either. Panic settled in his system and suddenly he was just so afraid. This was such a serious finding - was he smart and equipped enough to even handle it?
No, of course, he wasn't. Maybe... Maybe he could play a role in helping Hoseok but he already knew, this was something beyond what only a friend could do to help.
What made it even worse was that he completely understood such insecurities himself - the dark thoughts that persuaded to take the pain away for you if you submitted to its filthy temptations. Except, although it took him an extremely long while, he eventually turned his friends and family for some guidance to assist him.
He didn't think Hoseok did.
Or rather, he didn't think Hoseok could.
If anything, he needed to relax and acknowledge the situation calmly but rationality was the last thing on his mind. Normally, words came to his him as easily as dripping honey, except right now, he knew anything that might come out of his mouth would not be sensible in the slightest. He didn't want to blurt something that would make Hoseok run away and block him out.
So, ultimately, he doesn't say anything. In fact, he was so rigid and out of it that the only thing he could do was slowly tighten his hand around the blade he was holding in an attempt to hide it.
"Are you... okay?" Hoseok questions slowly after receiving no response.
Slowly coming back to his senses, Namjoon turns around and smiles softly. "Of course. Although, I think I should be asking you that."
"I'm sorry, earlier I didn't mean to-"
"It's okay, you're good. As long as you're fine right now, you're good." Namjoon repeats, almost as if he's trying to convince himself.
Should I just tell him? He takes a difficult breath and looks up. It would be easier to just get it out there, right?
"Hoseok, I fou-"
A sudden laugh splitting through the air, Hoseok enters the bathroom fully and crouches beside Namjoon, taking in the mess and slightly bloody toe with newfound amusement. "Cute. I knew you were clumsy from Jin and Jungkook's stories but seeing it is kinda funny."
