You walked through the undergrowth, tired, hungry and weak. Your legs dragged you onward until it felt like only your soul was walking.
I... I can make it... you told yourself, breathing heavily. You thought back to the memories of playing with Moss and Ginger, and wondered what had happened to your dear siblings after you and your kin had been chased out of the streets by dogs. The memory of their gleaming white fangs was still vivid in your mind. Had they been taken by the violent creatures? Were they safe? Where was your mother? At that stage, you admitted to yourself that you couldn't even remember the names of your parents.
Suddenly, you trembled, your nerves feeling as light as silk now. You tried to stand, but it was no use as you collapsed onto the hard earth with a loud thud. Still breathing heavily, you heard a sudden clap of thunder in the distance. You gasped. All of your instincts told you to stand and run, but you were helpless. There was nothing you could do but panic and watch as the gray clouds above you slowly clustered before a gradually heavy rain started to fall. Cold raindrops started to shower down onto your fur until your pelt felt completely numb.
Mother, help me, you preyed to the sky, now quivering. All you wanted was for this to be completely over. Your bones trembled, your body about to give in, before a sudden flash of terrifying ivory struck down the corner of your eye. A jolt of pain shot through you for less than a mouse-leap before you completely blacked out.

For some reason, you seemed to be the slightest bit conscious. You could still hear and feel everything around you. You could still feel the icy rain blanketing you and your pelt being ruffled in the strong wind.
"Firestar! Firestar!" Suddenly, you heard a faint voice calling out to another in the distance. "Come, quick!"
Firestar? You thought curiously, almost panicking. Oh, Moss, Ginger, where are you?
You could now hear paws hastily approaching you. Although your vision was still obscured by darkness, you could sense two presences around you. More started to surround you until you felt completely enclosed.
"Get back!" One cat ordered, and at his command, the heat around you vanished. For a long moment a cat circled you curiously, sniffing your pelt. Murmurs broke out around you, but the other cats did not dare step any closer. At last, the cat inspecting you paced back.
"This cat is not harmful nor from another clan," the lead cat reported.
"How do you know that?" Another cat panicked. "This could be another recruit of TigerClan! StarClan knows what would happen if we let one of those pieces of fox-dung into our territory."
"TigerClan left after the lightning bolt struck. I doubt that they would dare harm our clan this soon after a gathering."
"But Firestar, we can't be sure of—"
"Silence." The lead cat demanded again. "We will take this outsider back to our camp. It would be of no help nor use to keep her out here in this weather. Graystripe and Sandstorm, take this loner back to our camp."
There was silence for a short moment. "Yes, Firestar." Two voices then agreed in union. You felt yourself being picked up and carried on the backs of two other cats. They were murmuring in disapproval to each other, but they soon stopped at the order of their leader. You were conscious for only moments longer, before all of your senses perished.

"Is she awake yet?" A calm and silent voice asked from above you.
"Give her time, Firestar," a voice silently soothed as you felt something moist being pressed against one of your grazes, "she's very frail and shaken after what may have happened to her."
Your sight and breath then slowly began to return. You could see two blurry figures above you, and you realized that you were being rested in something that felt like a bed — except mossy. Your dazed state started to fade, and you could now clearly see a dark gray she-cat standing above you, pressing herbs to your bruised and scabbed pelt. Her blue eyes were caring and kind as they looked into yours.
The other cat was a larger ginger tom with utterly stunning green eyes. His eyes widened when he met yours.
"Ah, you're awake!" The gray she-cat purred, snapping you out of your thoughts. She went away for a moment and returned with a plump mouse clasped in her jaws. She dropped it beside you happily. "Eat this. You look starving! Oh, I forgot to introduce myself. My name is Cinderpelt. I'm ThunderClan's medicine cat. That's Firestar," she stopped and flicked her ear cheerfully towards the ginger tom, "he's our leader. Greet yourself, Firestar."
"Oh, yes, sorry," Firestar shook his head and smiled at you warmly. "I'm Firestar. Leader of—"
"I already told her," Cinderpelt smirked. "Did you go deaf for a while there, mouse-brain?"
"Oh, no, sorry," Firestar gulped, embarrassed, still looking into your eyes. "You have such unique (Y/E/C) eyes, you know. What's your name?"
You stared at Firestar for a long moment, curious as to why he was telling you these things.
"My name? Er, I think it's (Y/L/N)," you mewed at last, sitting up, "it's a pleasure to meet you both, Cinderpelt, Firestar. I think."
"The pleasure's all ours," Firestar dipped his head respectfully.
"Do you remember what happened to you before you came here?" Cinderpelt asked you.
You turned to her. "Well, I don't even remember much about myself, but I remember that there was a flash of light before me. It was painful for a moment, then I couldn't see."
"Poor thing, I could only assume you were struck by lightning! That's so strange. You're lucky to be alive. But that's so odd... could it have been a sign?" Cinderpelt wondered, looking away. "It might not have been a sign of approval from StarClan for TigerClan after all."
"StarClan? TigerClan?" You asked. "What are all of these 'clans'?"
"There are currently three clans in the forest — ThunderClan, TigerClan and WindClan. You'll learn more about StarClan." Cinderpelt explained. "I'm just thinking. If Tigerstar said that it was a sign of approval from StarClan, could he have been wrong, somehow? Ah, StarClan must have summoned for you, (Y/L/N)! Oh, wait, no, that can't be right. Ugh."
"What?" You were so confused.
What is this crazy furball saying? You thought.
"It could have been an omen," Firestar added, as if he could read your thoughts.
"An omen?" You asked, dumbfounded. "Wh—"
"We'll leave you to figure that out, Cinderpelt," Firestar mewed to the gray she-cat. "I'll take (Y/L/N) around the clan."
"Hey, settle down! For the love of StarClan, you expect a cat as frail as this poor soul to just start waltzing about, after being fried by the sky?" Cinderpelt chuckled. "Let her rest."
"Oh, no, thank you, Cinderpelt, but I think I might be alright," you responded, steadily staggering to your paws. Cinderpelt's jaw gaped open.
"How? Ugh, no matter," Cinderpelt grunted, shaking her head. "Firestar, just be sure to bring (Y/L/N) back here once you're done. Her wounds are still healing."
"Count on me," Firestar mewed. He stood and walked towards the entrance, then he looked back at you. "Are you coming?"
"Oh, yes," You steadily made your towards him and he padded with you outside into the clearing. For some reason, you seemed to notice that Firestar had been making his way closer to you.
"Woah, woah," you stepped to the side away from him awkwardly. Firestar glanced at you, too quick for you to read his expression, but he kept making his way towards a den where cats as old as him were talking or sharing prey outside. As you approached it, a pale ginger she-cat outside the den had a horrifying green glare. It stalked your every move until all you could do was nudge Firestar uncomfortably. Firestar followed the direction of your gaze.
"Oh, good morning, Sandstorm," he mewed. "Sandstorm, meet (Y/L/N). (Y/L/N), meet Sandstorm."

Hi everyone! First off, I just wanted to thank you all so very much for taking a look at my story! It really means a lot to me!
I apologise to all the male readers by the way, I'm totally fine with males reading this, but the reader's character will be referred to as a female in this, so if you are alright with those pronouns it should be fine. I'm sorry, I wrote this when I was younger and I was thinking about the ending outcome and didn't know how to input a male character — so sorry!
