Your pads were beginning to sting from the dust and needles drilled into them. Tawnypaw flanked you, trying her best to keep you warm and persisting in the cold, damp night.
She gazed at you in empathy. "Thanks for coming with me, (Y/L/N)." She mewed.
I seriously didn't even stay one night in ThunderClan, you thought, and look what I've got myself into.
You looked back at her and smiled weakly. "It's fine. But, why are we going to this 'TigerClan', anyway?"
Tawnypaw's head drooped. "I told you that cats still don't look at me and Bramblepaw like they would look at any other apprentice back in ThunderClan. We don't fit in there, and so I'm hoping that other cats, including Tigerstar, will welcome me as a true clanmate if I join TigerClan."
"But Tawnypaw, I'm sure other cats are proud of you back in ThunderClan, especially Brackenfur," you purred, pressing your muzzle into Tawnypaw's side, "they just need time. Why didn't you want Bramblepaw to come with us, by the way?"
"He wouldn't understand," Tawnypaw hissed quietly, "and he never will. All he cares about is being loyal to his birth clan. That's all. He wouldn't care about his kin."
You opened your mouth to protest, sure that Bramblepaw would know how his sister felt, but not a word came out. The first few cats of Silverpelt began to gleam in the dark sky when Tawnypaw looked up, sensing a familiar scent. She looked at you with a determined look spread across her face.
"This is it," she mewed.
Thank god, you groaned under your breath.
"Stay behind me. I don't think they'll be nice to a cat they've never seen before, especially Tigerstar and Blackfoot," Tawnypaw continued.
You nodded, and crept behind the tortoiseshell she-cat. Tawnypaw slowly padded forward and entered through a narrow entrance of dry thorns into a wide clearing, surprisingly still full with cats at such a late hour.
"Tawnypaw?" A voice remarked from above. You looked up, and saw a huge, muscular, dark tabby tom standing on the top of a hill of white sticks, which you soon realized were bones.
Ew! You spat under your breath. What have these sickening cats been gathering to make that?
"Father," Tawnypaw mewed back, dipping her head respectfully, "I... I mean, we, come in peace."
"Oh, dear Tawnypaw, I know that," the dark tabby stepped down the hill of bones swiftly, making his way up to you and Tawnypaw. His muscles rippled under his lean, strong, dark-brown-striped pelt. You felt dizzy when he at last approached the both of you, his charming amber eyes glad to meet Tawnypaw's.
You leaned over into your friend's ear. "Who's this?"
"This is Tigerstar," Tawnypaw whispered to you, "my father. He's the leader of this clan, TigerClan. Although, I wonder where Leopardstar is."
"So, you did decide to come back to me?" Tigerstar's voice sounded warm as he spoke to his daughter, although it seemed to come out in growls and grunts.
Tawnypaw nodded.
"How about your brother?" Tigerstar asked, firmly this time.
"He wanted to remain loyal to ThunderClan," Tawnypaw murmured, "I'm sorry, father."
Tigerstar began to knead his claws into the ground in frustration. "You made a wise choice, Tawnypaw. Soon Bramblepaw will see why he should've followed in your path."
As Tigerstar spoke, you peered past his shoulder to saw a blue-gray tom lying limp and bloody on the ground. A white tom with huge black paws made his way towards the helpless figure, picking it up by its scruff and dragging it out of the bushes that enclosed the camp.
"Who are those cats? What are they doing?" You sounded petrified as you asked Tawnypaw, accidentally loud enough to attract Tigerstar.
He turned around. "That's my deputy, Blackfoot. Let's just say he's 'taking care' of that Stonefur over there."
"You killed that cat?"
"I didn't kill him. Blackfoot did. He deserved a visit to StarClan, after all, he was an untrustworthy half-clan cat."
"Half-clan?"
"How mouse-brained can you get?" Tigerstar spat, whipping his head back to you. "His foolish mother was from ThunderClan, and his father was from RiverClan. Tawnypaw, who is this?"
"This is my new friend, (Y/L/N)," Tawnypaw mewed, "we found her outside of Fourtrees after the gathering."
"So this was the sign StarClan sent us?" Tigerstar snorted.
"We're not sure-"
"Pathetic. But you don't look too bad."
Your face suddenly flushed with embarrassment at Tigerstar's half-insult, half-compliment. You almost forgot that this was Tawnypaw's father, but not to mention handsome, tall and cunning.
"I've come to stay in ShadowClan, Tigerstar," Tawnypaw continued, a hint of annoyance in her voice. "I'm not going back. What would you like me to do?"
"Well, we were just about to launch an attack on WindClan," Tigerstar growled. "But now that there's another two mouths to feed, I suppose you both should stay and rest up. Tawnypaw, go ask Leopardstar to go with you to collect moss for both of your bedding. I'll take (Y/L/N) to the fresh-kill pile. She seems a little frail."
"Actually, I'm alright, Tigerstar," you murmured politely, but Tigerstar was already making sure you were flanking him to the center of the clearing. As his groomed fur brushed your matted one, you couldn't help but be surprised at how respectful he was being towards you, especially for a leader with no compassion towards what you now knew as the 'half-clan cats'.
As you and Tigerstar approached a stack of prey in the middle of the camp, Tigerstar took a large water vole, standing and dropping it at your paws. You sat with it in front of you and looked up at Tigerstar.
"Thank you," you mewed reluctantly.
Tigerstar grunted. He padded back to the fresh-kill pile, clasped a plump mouse in his jaws and dropped it beside you, sitting with it. He began to rip strips of flesh from the mouse hungrily, and glanced at you.
"Are you going to eat what the clan hunted for you, or are you going to keep staring at my mouth?" Tigerstar growled. Suddenly, he smiled lightly. "I only bite prey."
"Oh, sorry," you murmured, ducking your head down and taking a bite of your vole. It was delicious and juicy, much less stringy and rotten then the prey you and your kin were forced to hunt in the streets.
"So," Tigerstar began, "what clan were you from?"
"I wasn't in a clan, I guess," you answered through gulps, "I lived on the streets with my mother and siblings, Ginger and Moss, since I was a kit."
"So you were a loner?"

"Erm, yes. Whatever that is. I think. Although, I was in ThunderClan for a night when they found me."
"ThunderClan is a load of lying, irresponsible, weak fox-dung," Tigerstar spat, "never listen to them. They fight like kittypets, and would kill themselves for the warrior code. Here in TigerClan, everyone is free. We are not under the control of StarClan, for they approve of our choice of bringing RiverClan and ShadowClan together. I'm glad you're staying, (Y/L/N), and getting to have the same experience of freedom as us."
You and Tigerstar sparked up a positive conversation from there, and before you knew it, you had both finished your meals as the moon was as its highest point, and knew almost everything about each other in one night. Tigerstar picked up the bones of the water vole and mouse, and carried them to the hill of bones, which from your conversation, you now knew as the bonehill. Wonder who came up with such a clever name.
Tigerstar shouldered his way to where you lay.
"Tawnypaw will be waiting for you in the apprentices' den. You should go and get a good night's sleep with her," Tigerstar bent down and pressed his nose to yours politely. "Goodnight, (Y/N/N)."
Tigerstar then strode to his den beside the bonehill. You stared as he disappeared through the darkened entrance, dumbfounded.
"(Y/L/N)!" A familiar voice called out to you. You turned and saw Tawnypaw standing by another den's entrance. You guessed it was the apprentices' den. "Come on! Leopardstar and I lay our bedding down for us."

"Oh, okay! Thanks!" You stood and bounded towards Tawnypaw, your nose still wet from the sensation of Tigerstar's pressed against it. You flanked Tawnypaw to your beds, which were again beside each other's. You both lay down, and soon, sleep enclosed you.

I'll repeat it in case Tigerstar seems to old to be with you: you are older than Tawnypaw! Nearly Firestar's age, so you could be old enough to be Tawnypaw's older sister or even mother. I don't want any weird pedo stuff going on here.
Just a fun fact though, keep in mind all of the incest and age differences in the novel if y'all think this is freaky. All those warriors ending up with cats that were kits when they were new warriors? Yeah. Willowpelt and Patchpelt getting together even though they're siblings, and Dustpelt and Ferncloud mating even though Dustpelt's Ferncloud's uncle? Yeah.
