Chapter 15: the intervention

My mind is still spinning from my previous conversation with Liv. I didn't think she would trust me enough to actually do the examination. And especially that examination.

But I get it. After what happened to her or what might've happened to her, she doesn't trust many people.

But my blood is boiling. After looking at the results of the drug tests, I want to go see Daniel. I know she's had a history of seizures, but the flumitrazepam may have caused it. She has a higher chance because of her history.

I make it to his hospital room and slowly open the door. He is awake as it seems, but his eyes look cold like ice.

He looks like crap, to put it lightly. A bandage is wrapped tightly around his head, making his matted and dirty hair stick up all over the place. His whole face seems as if it swelled up over the time he's been here.

I walk in with caution and he lifts his head up from the pillow. He gets one look at me and instantly drops his head back on the pillow.

"Please no more examinations."

"Oh I'm not here to examine you." I say quietly stalking towards him.

He sighs. "What do you want then?"

Daniel needs to learn his manners when talking to employees. Especially when his life is in their hands.

I notice he has a cut near his eye, more like four. Like claw marks. From someone trying to fight him off. I hold in my anger.

"I want answers."

At my words, he sits up, his eyebrows scrunching together.

"Who the hell are you?"

"A friend of Olivia's." I step closer. "And now you're enemy."

He presses himself up against the bed.
"L-look man, I don't want any trouble."

"Neither did she. But look where we are now."

He holds his hands in front of his face in defense. "Listen! I-I don't even remember anything from that night! I was wasted!"

"Really? You don't remember anything? Do you remember slipping a date rape drug in her drink?!"

His eyes grow wide. That tells me the answer. He's nothing but a coward.

"You son of a bitch." I whisper, finally closing in on him.

"What the hell is going on in here?" I hear a familiar voice from behind me. I turn to see Doctor Altman from the ambulance standing by the doorway. At the sight of me, his expression changes.

"Will? What are you doing in here?"

"Doc, y-you don't understand." I glance back at Daniel, "I was just-"
