I nodded and returned my gaze back to Liv. She placed a hand on my chest, opening and closing her fist. I heard her sniffle and rubbed her hair gently.
"Listen. I know you may not want to tell me what happened right now. But at some...

Chapter 26: the confession
"You what?"
"You heard me" Liv bit back. There was acid in her tone, as if she hadn't just admitted that she was in love with me. Lexi just stood there in astonishment. I mean she's not the only one. This was all news to me. But of course, all I could do was stand there like a fucking idiot.
"You're making a big mistake. Don't fucking come to me when you're dragged into all the shit he does." Lexi pointed an angry finger at Liv who held her ground through the whole event.
"You don't even know him Lexi!" Olivia stepped up to her as if to challenge her and then she turned to look at me. "Not like I do."
After a few excruciating moments of silence, Lexi motioned towards Decker. But she didn't give him eye contact. Looks like it wasn't just Olivia that she was angry with. It was clear that she was done talking to the both of us.
"Come on. Let's go. Looks like she hit her head too hard in that car accident."
Okay, now that was just cruel. Even I felt the sting from that insult, and it wasn't directed at me. I wanted so bad to say something, but I knew that getting in the middle of their argument would make things worse.
If looks could kill, we'd both be six feet underground by now. Decker walked passed me, his hands in his pockets. I wanted to beat the shit out of him. The whole reason we were even in this situation was because of him. Like usual, his fucking ego took over and turned this whole evening into a shit show.
Of course, that's probably what he wanted from the beginning. He most likely planned this whole thing just to get back at me for standing up to him back at the hospital. Looks like he got what he wanted. But I definitely wouldn't hesitate to kick his ass the next time I saw him.
After they both left, I couldn't help but glance at Liv. Tears started to form in her eyes, a sudden realization taking over her. She might've just lost her best friend. All because of me.
She collapsed onto the couch, her face in her hands. I quickly acted and knelt in front of her, placing my hands on her knees to comfort her.
"Liv, don't listen to her. None of this is on you."
"God I'm such a fucking idiot." Liv whispered, her words muffled behind her hands.
"No. Liv your not-"
"Why didn't I listen to you!" She cut me off, her hands slapping down on mine which were still placed on her knees. "You were right about Connor. Conrad. He ruined everything. Who knows when Lexi will talk to me again." Liv lowered her head.
"Hey." I lifted her chin so she would look at me. "You know what I love about you? You put so much trust in people. I mean, I don't think I'd be here if you didn't trust me the moment we became roommates. And more. You always find the good in people, no matter what."
Liv kept her head down, slightly shaking her head, as if she was ashamed in herself. And I hated that. She didn't know how perfect she was, even in the darkest moments. I was almost in a trance every time I even got to look at her.
I took Liv's hands, stroking her knuckles with mine. I almost hesitated to say my next words, but keeping them in would drive me crazy.
"And that's why I keep falling in love with you every time."
Her head snapped up, our noses almost touching as I moved my hands to her waist.
If she thought I forgot about what she said a minute ago, Liv was completely wrong. Those words made up for all the shit that happened between Decker and Lexi. Even if I didn't know it, I had been waiting for them.
"What did you just say?" Liv whispered, her grip tightening around my forearms on her waist. I leaned in close to her ear, my lips barely touching.
"I said I'm in love with you Olivia Winston." I whispered, trying to contain my smirk.
A split second.
That's all it took for Olivia to grab my face and crash her lips to mine. I was left in a daze, my arms frozen in the air before coming back to rest on her waist. My lips moved with hers as I tangled my hands in her hair. I felt her smile against my lips and she wrapped her arms around my neck.
It didn't take long before we were slowly stumbling to the bedroom, clothes flying everywhere. I could tell she was hesitant, with every piece of clothing that was discarded. Touching her skin was like fire on my fingertips, yet I felt her shiver at my touch.
My lips trailed down to her neck, and I felt her body humming with every touch. She wasn't stopping me.
Once we made it close to the bed, Liv swung around and sat on the edge while I still stood, our lips never once parting. She ran her hands up my chest before grabbing my shirt and pulling me on top of her.
I caught myself by bracing my hands on the bed on either sides of Liv, not wanting to put my full weight on her. I felt her hands shake as she ran her hands up my shirt and start to pull at it. Liv was scared. It was obvious.
I reached up and lightly stroked her cheek. Her eyes were dilated, and I could make it out in the dark. Her eyes told me she wanted to do this. They told me she wasn't afraid of me.
And I'd make sure she'd never be afraid as long as I'm with her.
