Hiccup was snapped out of his flashback by Gobber talking.

"What's this contraption," Gobber asked.

He was looking at the Mangler, a prototype Bola launcher that Hiccup designed for hunting.

"Gobber, I know what you're thinking. That there is for hunting small animals, not dragons," Hiccup told his teacher.

"It looks strong enough to take down a dragon. You just need to get over this whole not killing dragons business," Gobber told his apprentice.

Hiccup shook his head. Ever since that one day 6 years ago, Hiccup had made a path never to harm a dragon unless in self defense.

"I'm not going to kill dragons Gobber," Hiccup said seriously.

Gobber nodded, respecting his apprentice's wishes. He never tried to force Hiccup to be something that he never wanted to be. He respected his apprentice for who he was.

"Alright then," Gobber said.

Hiccup turned around, sharpening a sword. Gobber grabbed the launcher and hurried out to use it. Just cause he respected his apprentice for not wanting to kill dragons doesn't mean that he has to be the one to do it.

After figuring out how it worked, he tried launching it and it seemingly missed. Unbeknownst to Gobber, that bola hit a pitch black dragon and caused it to go down.

Gobber aimed at a Nadder and fired the launcher, easily bring the dragon down.

"This launcher is amazing," Gobber said.

However in the middle of his triumph, a monstrous nightmare decided to land on the launcher, destroying it in the process.

'So much for the Mangler' Gobber thought.

----------

Hiccup was watching the display of the night fury destroying the tower like it always seemed to do. The way it's fire seemed to be differently colored and the way it attacked gave hiccup a connection to the night fury. Like him, it was different.

Then, he saw it go down. Shrieking as it headed towards raven point.

Hiccup was shocked. Somehow had been able to hit the Nightfury. It seemed impossible.

Hiccup started to head toward raven point, but was stopped by Stoick.

"Hiccup, what are you doing out here without a weapon. If you want to kill dragons, you're going to need something to kill them with," Stoick told his son, hoping that he had given up  this ridiculous idea of not killing the beasts.

"Dad, like I've told you many times, I don't want to kill dragons," Hiccup said irritated that his father kept trying to get him to kill the intelligent creatures.

Stoick's face grew hard and serious.
"Get inside, I'll deal with you later," He said.

Hiccup snuck into his house, then out the back and headed toward raven point.
