Authors note 11/27/2018: Alright I promised a loyal reader that I would try to find a picture of toothless saying "I was hiding under your porch because I love you, can I stay?" Unfortunately I couldn't find one so I found the next best thing,

Toothless in a Stitch costume from Lilo and Stitch.

Hiccup woke up to see darkness still surrounding him. He started to panic, but remembered what happened last night which calmed him down. He looked up to see that Toothless had his head buried in his wings. Hiccup thought with amusement that this was the same dragon that his village had labeled as the unholy offspring of lightning and death itself. The dragon looked adorable while he slept. Hiccup decided that he had to wake him up.

Toothless awoke to feel something tapping him on the forehead. He gave the culprit a deadpan stare.

"Seriously," he said to Hiccup.

Hiccup chuckled as a response. Toothless shifted so that he was pinning Hiccup down. Then he decided to drench the Viking in dragon saliva.

Hiccup sputtered and protested, but to no avail. Toothless smirked when he was done with Hiccup glaring playfully at him.

"Sweet, sweet revenge," Toothless said.

"Yeah, very funny," Hiccup said sarcastically.

Hiccup, realizing that it was late in the afternoon bolted up.

"I've got to get back to the village," He exclaimed.

Toothless thought for a moment before an idea formed in his head.

"Climb on," Toothless said to Hiccup.

Hiccup climbed onto the pitch black dragons back. Toothless got used to the weight and spread his wings.

"Hold on tight," he said before taking off.

They soared over the forest to the edge of it where it meats the village. Toothless landed in a shadowy clearing before Hiccup dismounted.

"I will be at the cove where we first met if you need me," Toothless said.

Hiccup nodded before hugging Toothless.

"Thank you, for everything," Hiccup said.

Toothless returned the hug before he felt a connection between Hiccup's mind and his own. He felt the emotions the Viking was experiencing. Happiness, belonging, trust, and most importantly love. Hiccup saw Toothless as a brother. Someone who could look out for him and treat him like family.

"See you later, brother," Toothless said.

Hiccup nodded before running back to the village leaving Toothless with the knowledge that his suspicions were indeed correct. Hiccup was the fabled Dragon Prince. Toothless would have to play this by ear. If Hiccup wanted to leave, Toothless knew of an icy nest ruled by a benevolent king, the great bewilderbeast. He would be able to help unlock Hiccup's hidden abilities and give him a home where many individuals cared about him.

With this in his mind, Toothless flew back to the cove, waiting for Hiccup to come back.
