Lukes P.O.V.
I was packing for my last year at Camp Kool before I turned 18 in July.
It was kinda sad but I guess all good things have to come to an end.
It's going to be weird without camp next year. Considering the fact I've been there since I was 10. But after I turned 15 they changed the rules and it was 15-18. I guess it was because the new camp director was young.
But he was really cool for the past 3 years.
But it also wasn't a great idea to procrastinate until the day I had to leave to pack.
"Mom! Do you know where my sweats are? I can't find them!" I yelled to my mom downstairs from my room.
"Have you checked the dryer?" She called back to me.
I ran into the upstairs hallway and opened up the rolling doors and opened up the dryer. I checked inside and sure enough there they were.
"Thanks mom" I yelled as I walked back into my room to pack more things.
I packed at least 20 pairs of socks and 20 pairs of boxers. Some skinny jeans, sweats, basket ball shorts, khaki shorts, my swim suit, 20 band shirts, 2 sweaters and some pajamas. Those were just my clothes.
I brought 4 pairs of shoes. Slippers, flip flops, converse and my black vans.
Then, I brought my iPod, some headphones, my wallet, at least $216 dollars. (Birthday money).
Once I got what I hoped was enough clothes for 3 months in a suit case and a huge duffel bag, I shoved a pillow inside my sleeping bag along with a fleece blanket and rolled it up.
If I didn't head out in at least 20 minutes I was going to be late. I grabbed my luggage and ran down stairs to the driveway to shove my stuff in the backseat of my jeep. Then made a second trip to get my sleeping bag.
"Are you headin out son?" My dad asked as he sipped his coffee and looked up from his newspaper.
"Uh yeah" I say with my sleeping bag still in hand.
"Give your mom a hug before you go. I love you and be safe." My dad smiled looking back down at the comic section.
After I shoved my sleeping bag in my car, I ran in to give my mom a hug.
"Be safe. I'll miss you so much. Make smart decisions. Don't spend all your money on junk food. Don't get hurt. Do you have your toothbrush? And extra boxers and socks?" She cried
"Mom. I'll be back in 3 months. It's not like I'm leaving forever. I'll be fine. I love you. And I have to go!" I say as I run out of living room, into the kitchen, and out to the car.
I jumped in an started up the engine and backs out of the drive way.
I'm really glad my parents are such wonderful people. They don't care that I'm kind of punk rock. They didn't judge me for my lip piercing or my infatuation with skinny jeans and band shirts.
I shoved my green day CD in the stereo thing and clicked the AC on.
I have a long 3 hour drive ahead of me.
