chap̸ter 1

You woke up to the sound of your alarm clock. "Ugh...." you moan. Your horrible step-dad John must've set an alarm again, he would always give you a row if you stayed in bed, so you got up and scrambled over your drawers.

"I can't believe he's making me get up at 8am on my birthday." You thought. You took off your pajamas and shoved on your 5sos top and some black skinny jeans.

After you had got your slippers on, you started brushing your hair when all of sudden John shouted "LIZZY, GET YOUR ASS DOWN HERE, NOW!" You jumped and ran downstairs. He grabbed you by your hair and dragged you into the kitchen.

You force your tears back, not letting them show in front of John. He throws you onto the ground next to your mother, he was drunk again. "Stay there, The pair of you!" He bellowed "I'm going To get some alcohol!".

"The liquor aisle doesn't open until...." You drifted off as he stared at you angrily.

He grabbed the keys and drove off. You hugged your mother and as you did you saw the bruises on her arms and her neck. She stood up and walked into the kitchen. She came back and was hiding something in her housecoat. "Whats That?.." You ask confused.

"Happy 18th Birthday." She Says With A Smile Giving you the parcel. You un-wrap it to find the 5SOS album and 2 5SOS posters. "Thank You So Much!" You say standing up and hugging your mother. She hands you a birthday card and you open up the envelope, something falls out. Leaning down to pick it up, you stop and scream. You had noticed what it was, 5SOS TICKETS! "OH MY GOSH, MUM! THANK YOU SO MUCH!".

You hear a car park out the front and your mum says "Quick, Hide Them In Your Room!".

You rush upstairs and hide them under your pillow and quickly run back down next to your mum.
