They continued training for the rest of the week, Andy and Marian had almost perfected their attack and were spending too much time together in Kinney's opinion. Kinney knocked on Cassian's door to see him packing a suitcase. "What are you doing Cassian?" Kinney asked, Cassian spun around and smiled at Kinney. "Oh, Kinney! Are you not going home for Christmas?" He asked, a sad look in his eyes. Kinney shook her head, "You, you guys go home?" She asked, Cassian nodded, "Well, those of us with family left, we go home and see them on Christmas." Kinney nodded, "Oh, I didn't know that, when will you guys be back?" She asked, not wanting to be alone all of Christmas, "We are gone for about a week, we get two days after Christmas and then we come home, we do a lot of training the week leading up to Christmas so in case we run into trouble, we can defend ourselves." Cassian stated. "Is everyone going?" She asked quietly, Cassian shook his head, "Marian doesn't have any more family so she spends her week here, Erik, well I don't know if Erik has family but he stays here for all I know. Any also said he'll be staying here, and Xander stays here too, his family is long gone. He is 594." He grinned. "Me, Merida, Mora and Thea go home. Sometimes others from The Pit go home too but we don't talk to them much so I'm not sure." Kinney tilted her head to the side, "The Pit?" Cassian tapped his foot in thought, "Yes, The Pit is an area downstairs, where the blacksmiths and healers stay, we don't talk to them much only to get armour or to get healed, we used to have another healer who also fought in the front lines but he died in battle." Cassian said, lowering his head, "What kind of battle do you mean?" She asked, crinkling her nose in thought. "Well, as Supernaturals, its our job to protect the world from inhuman threats such as inter-dimensional creatures and monsters. Things the mortals can't handle, and things the mortals aren't supposed to know about." Cassian said, while trying to close his suitcase, he leaned on it and zipped it up, he sighed and put his hands on his hips before turning back to Kinney. "S-so, I have to fight?" Kinney asked, scared. Cassian nodded slowly, "But don't worry Kinney, monsters can't get at us here and if you do fight, there is a 95% chance that we will be with you for that fight, unless you do something stupid and go out by yourself, unarmed. Erik did that once, he got beaten up pretty good, but he managed." Cassian spaced out staring at the wall, remembering that horrible day.

Marian running as fast as she could down the dirt road, an injured and bleeding Erik slumped over her shoulder. Cassian standing by the Academy, using his strongest magic possible to deter the monster, the monster breaking through every rock wall he built up. Marian was screaming as she ran faster, Cassian could see her legs shaking as she sprinted towards him, Erik looked pale, save for the bright red blood running down his face and body. Seeing Erik like that made Cassian work twice as hard, putting up two times the rocks that the beast could break down, he had given them time, Marian kept running as fast as she could, Erik was dead weight. Cassian's hands started shaking, he couldn't slip up his magic, not when they were this close. He went into overtime, putting all of his energy into his magic. Marian ran past him and into the house, to go find Liam, the old healer, Cassian stayed outside, he saw spots in his vision and felt his knees give out, suddenly two strong arms picked him up and carried him away, as he looked back he saw Xander, gracefully fighting the monster off, right before he passed out.

"Cassian?" He snapped out of it, his head hurting as if he had just woken up from that day. "You'll be fine Kinney." He said, slipping past her into the hallway.
