Hermion's pov:

I woke up around 6 in the morning. No one was awake. I decided to take a shower and get dressed. I climbed out of the portrait door walking towards the library. I grabbed a random book and started reading it until I remembered something which I seemed to have forgotten in the chaos yesterday.

Potion of Erised shows one's deepest and darkest desires. And apparently 'The pureblood supremist's' desire was me?! A muggleborn? Or what he called me A MUDBLOOD. This was something beyond my imagination.

It is true that we often love something which is out of our bounds and can't ever have. It is also true that sometimes people often bully or show hate to the people they like because they can't control the feeling that love is giving them. But Draco and I's story was on a whole another level. It was like romeo and juliet except juliet didn't love romeo this time.

My thoughts were interrupted by a certain blond walking in the library cussing at something which apparently he slammed his foot onto. Our eyes met for a second until he rushed to a bookshelf. Relief washed over me. I started reading again until a noticed suffling of chairs and a pale skinned boy slamming a few books on the desk.

Yay! I noticed him looking at me from the corner of my eye but just decided to ignore and continue reading. He also surprisingly didn't said anything and started hastily opening the books and started scribbling something. After sometime I noticed a noise of quill tapping on the desk irritating me. I cleared my throat for him to get an idea of stop doing it but he seemed to be oblivious of his surroundings.

"Do you need help with something Malfoy?" He looked of guard. It came rather angry from me which immediately made me feel guilty.
"I mean, you are tapping your quill continuously and it's sort of messing with my concentration." I said calmly this time. I felt his eyes softened at my response. "I just couldn't solve this arithmancy problem since days. It's bugging me!" he replied in a low voice. We were the only ones in the library.

"Let me see if I can solve it..." I muttered taking the book from his hand and scribbling down the question. It was a hard one actually. Draco was the second best in class so if he was having a hard time solving it, expect that from me too then.

After a few tries I finally cracked it."I did it! We often just don't read the problems carefully. It was actually really easy, just the wordings made it sound so difficult!" He looked at the sheet and looked impressed.
"Thank you so much Hermione!" The way he said my name gave me chills. He emphasised the 'io' in my name making it sound so classy.

I saw him stare into my eyes. "You know brown was never my favourite colour but since I looked into your eyes, It is now." I couldn't help but blush at that. No one has ever called me beautiful. And even if someone did mention it, it was never the eyes. I was so engrossed into my own thoughts that I didn't even felt him leave the table and walk through the halls.

Draco's pov:

It honestly felt so great knowing that Hermione was civil to me. And made me so Happy when I saw the effect I had on her when I commented about the eyes.

I went into the breakfast hall and helped myself with an apple. Father and Mother were going to visit Dumbledore today. I was anxious for Hermione. How would they react when their only son, the Malfoy heir was going to taint the pureblood lines?

My mother had her pureblood ideas in her mind but she loves me very much to care about that. I remember her saying to father the night before I got the dark mark, that my happiness lies first than any of the things... But Father, he already has so much going on. Being in Azkaban had changed him so much. He is vulnerable, weak at heart and more than happy to do anything what the dark lord desires. Even if that meant forcing his own son into the hands of the dark.

I saw Hermione approaching the Gryffindor table with the weasel and the scarhead. And suddenly I'm jealous of them. I always craved for the attention potter got in the world and now the attention Hermione gives to potter.. And that weasel, I don't know what Hermione or potter in that matter saw in him.

But still I would trade anything to be in their places to be able to laugh with Hermione. Mcgonagall appeared in the hallway rushing towards hemione and muttering something. She Then signed me to come near her.

"Draco, your parents have arrived in the headmaster's office. You both need to go there and be on the best behavior, won't you two." We both nodded and went towards the office. I could smell fear off Hermione. She was running her fingers through her hair smoothing out her curls. We reached the office and I met the fierce eyes of my father.

"Sit down Miss Granger and Mr Malfoy. No need to explain anything. The Malfoy's have been informed well about our situation. As for yours Miss Granger, you are quite a clever witch and I completely leave the decision in your hands about when you want to tell them. Now, don't be afraid Draco's parents would like to talk to you. If anything requires, don't hesitate to call me."

With that my parents stood up and gestured us to follow them. As we reached an empty hallway my father glared at me." What is this new nonsense Draco?" I heard my mother mutter something to him. He instantly calmed down. She took Hermione's arm and went away from us.

Hermione's pov:

My heart was about to burst due to nervousness. "Look we don't have much time and I know it's too soon for anything but I want you to know and understand some of the crucial things. I don't have the same views as lucius on blood supremacy. It doesn't matter to me anymore because how my family abandoned my lovely sister Andromeda on marrying a muggleborn. I'm actually happy for Draco because you are an extraordinary witch, a girl who is just not beautiful but extremely brave, compassionate and challenging."

I couldn't believe my ears. I gave a small smile and she continued maintaining a sharp yet soft look on her face.

"Draco has always been made to accept orders and has been grown up in a very strict household. He never had a lot of true friends or a girl which he could called his. So he might not know how to act. Please help him with that. He has never quite experienced love Hermione, I'm very sad about that. Due to lucius I was also forbidden to show my love once he started hogwarts. My son's happiness lies with you dear. He is a great boy in the heart. You have the key to unlock all the emotions he feels... Try to love him back.. That's all I would want."

I became so emotional after hearing that and seeing Mrs Malfoy in such a state made my eyes gloss with tears.

"And one thing, in our family, when the boy turns 16, the lady Malfoy gives him a locket, which he gives it to his significant other. And it is passed on through generations. So don't get scared when Draco gives it to you. Accept it with open hearts. It contains great powers. You will get to know about that in time."

She said as a single tear rolled down her eye. She gestured me to come with her again to Draco and his father. Lucius Maldoy looked severely disappointed and Draco stood there with his head low.

"Let's go now Lucius, the children have classes. Take care both of you." We nodded and they left. And yet again I stood there with a responsibility in my hand. To mend a broken heart.
