-jennie remembers the first time she saw jisoo.
it was a rainy tuesday, she was in the library, looking for a book assigned in calculus. she remembers thinking, reading for a math class, when she saw the purple-haired, petite girl crouched down, digging through mystery novels.
she was dripping wet, like her hair was messy because it was clear that she had just been out in the rain without a care, and jennie thinks maybe the sole purpose of her being at the library, searching for a mystery novel, is because that's good to curl up with on a rainy day. so essentially, she went outside where it was still raining and jennie, well jennie watches her from a short distance until she settles on an old, beat up copy of a book jennie can't quite read the title of and leaves towards the librarian to borrow it and checkout.
jennie, being jennie, doesn't do anything to catch her.
the second time she sees jisoo was a lot different. they were at a party, not a frat party so it's somehow mellow, but it's still a party and the music was blaring obnoxiously loud through the house.
she saw the girl at the porch earlier and this time, the girl saw her.
her eyes are brown, but jennie doesn't notice the color. they caught each other's glance across the room a few times, holding eye contact until one of their friends interrupts with an obnoxious, usually drunken gesture.
jennie doesn't know why jisoo has been staring, but she herself couldn't look away as well. something in her isn't letting her.
someone must've messed up the party playlist though, because after one of the louder, more poppy songs that jennie doesn't listen to, comes a slow, beautiful melody and she recognized it immediately as please be naked by the 1975.
she knows it's a short song, that's what makes her search. and when the first thing she found were brown eyes curiously looking at her, she thought it was time to stop wasting time.
jennie approaches the girl with purple hair watching her, straight across the floor with sweaty hands. but with no hesitation, she simply reaches her hand out for her to take.
and she takes it.

jisoo makes the most beautiful bride in the world.
jennie always knew she would. really, she had pictured the moment a countless number of times in her life and no matter what changes, jisoo stays just as beautiful each time.
she never could've pictured how beautiful she actually looks, which is why she doesn't last a second before breaking into the happiest tears she had ever shed. jisoo is hers, she's known that for a while, and she knows it's not going to change but she can't get over how happy that makes her.
when jisoo was close enough to really meet eyes with her, jennie hopes she can pull herself together long enough to meet those brown eyes she loves and when she does, jisoo was smiling brighter than she's ever see her smiling.
their wedding song was jisoo's pick, mainly because jennie is whipped, but also because the simple, although somewhat basic love story that any of nsync's songs show, is enough for jennie.
so it was 'this i promise you'. they danced for what it felt like years, and she doesn't mind at all if her clumsy girlfr— wife steps on her feet. she loves her everything too much in the moment to mind.

it's been fifty nine years, their anniversary was a week ago and they were both so happy they lasted this long. they both still are even with the sickening hospital walls and weird gowns.
jisoo still looks like an angel, jennie always tells her that; she's still as beautiful and nerdy as she has always been.
she knows they don't have a lot of time left, she's know that for a while now, actually. a year ago, jisoo was diagnosed with a heart disease, and she herself was diagnosed with being old. they had been married for fifty nine years, leaving jennie at 83 and jisoo at 84.
that's not too old but they know they aren't getting any further.
but it was okay. it was okay because even though they were coming to the end of the race, they were finishing together.

jennie remembers jisoo's hands in hers. well, it's only been hours since she let them go, but she remembers the life in them before that.
she's in her own bed now, alone this time. and she can't say she's sad, cause she was hopeful. hopeful that she'd get too see jisoo again. hopeful and was looking at the positive aspect of life, as what jisoo has always taught her.
one time, a few years into their marriage, they had had to spend a week apart for jisoo's business trips.
if she could last a week then, she could last a few hours now.
a few more hours had past, somehow torturous but she knows she'll be happy again once she gets over this last bridge.
she closes her eyes and the next second everything was black.
then it's brown again, only because she was looking right into those chocolate eyes she has always adored, yes, jisoo was there, smiling brightly like she always had, and staring back at her. her arms were wide open, waiting for jennie like she knew she would.
and they were together again, never would be apart this time.
