Alexis' POV

I woke up on Monday morning at six thirty. "Ugh," I said turning off my alarm. "Monday already?" I got out bed and showered. I put on my glasses (nerdy ones) so I could see. I tied up my hair and let my bangs fall into place. I got dressed in a pink plaid skirt, a white button up tee shirt with a pink plaid tie, and a black v-neck sweater vest. I pulled on my knee high socks and my pink converse that stopped at my ankles. I grabbed my pink backpack and slung it over my shoulder. I walked downstairs. "Mom, I'm going to head to school."

"Do you need me to drive you?" asked Mom.

"No, Jayk's here to pick me up," I said. "But I think I'm going to spend the night at Tati's tonight."

"Okay," said Mom.

There was a honk. "I'm off," I said. I walked out and got in Jayk's car with him. "Hey."

"Hey," said Jayk. We got to school. "You need help with anything?"

"No, Jayk," I said. "I think I'll be fine."

"Alright," said Jayk as we got out of the car. "I'll meet you at your locker for lunch."

"Okay," I said smiling. I walked to my locker and put my backpack in there. I grabbed my books and closed my locker. "Time for another day."

A girl purposely bumped into me causing me to drop all of my books. "Oopsies," said the girl.

I looked up at the girl and it was Avery. "Oh no," I said.

"Look where you're going four eyes," said Avery. Avery was the head cheerleader who envy me because I was with Jayk. "Oh, I'm sorry. Who are you supposed to be?"

"I told you to leave me alone," I said fixing my glasses. I picked up my books. "Just please."

"Is there a problem here?" asked Jayk standing in front of me facing Avery.

"Oh, Jayk," said Avery. "Your little girlfriend here has been threatening me."

"I know you, Avery," said Jayk. "Alexis wouldn't do something like that." Jayk put his arm around me. "I'll walk you to class."

"Okay," I said. Jayk walked to advanced chem. "Thank you for getting me out back there."

"You're my girlfriend," said Jayk. "I would do anything for you."

"Thanks," I said hugging my books close.

"Are you cold?" asked Jayk. He took off his letterman jacket and put it around my shoulders. "There."

"Your letterman jacket?" I asked smiling.

"Yeah," said Jayk. "You'll need it more than I do."

"Thank you Jayk," I said. The bell rang. "You better get to class."

"I'll see you," said Jayk giving me a hug and a kiss on the cheek. "Be at your locker."

"I'll be there," I said. "Now go."

"Bye boo," said Jayk.

"I'll be there," I said. Jayk left. "Alright." I walked into class and took my seat. "Can this day get any worse?"

Jayk's POV

It was finally lunch time and I met Alexis at her locker. "Ready to eat?" I asked.

"Yeah," said Alexis as she got out her disposable container that held her salad. She handed me a container. "I made you lunch today." I smiled. "It's your favorite: sushi."

"Thank you," I said. "Let's go." We walked to a table and sat down. She sat her books and her salad on the table. She took off my lettermen jacket and put it in her lap. She started eating her salad and doing her work. "What class is this?"

"Advanced chem and physics," said Alexis.

"What is wrong?" I asked.

"What do you mean?" asked Alexis writing stuff down.

"You don't usually overwhelm youself with work during lunch," I said. "What is wrong with you? Did Avery see you again today?" She nodded. "What did she say?"

"Just ignore it," said Alexis. "I don't want to talk about it."

"Alexis, whether you like it or not, I'm making this my business," I said. "What did Avery say?"

"Jayk, I was kidding myself," said Alexis as she took off her glasses.

"What are you doing?" I asked as I put her glasses back on her. "Alexis, you're beautiful the way you are."

"Jayk, Avery's right about us," said Alexis.

"You really have to stop letting her get to you," I said. "She's going to try and tear us apart."

"Jayk, I know but it's not just her," said Alexis. "I'm just tired of getting hurt by your so called friends."

"Alexis, I don't care about they think about us," I said. "As long as we're together it's cool, right?"

"Jayk, I'm sorry but I can't do this," said Alexis as she finished her salad. "I just can't do it anymore." She gathered her books together. "I'm sorry."

"Alexis, we're going to find a way to get them to stop," I said.

"That's very nice of you, Jayk, but you can find your own way to deal with this problem," said Alexis. "I'll find my own way to deal with this. I don't know what but I'm sure there is a way." She handed me my letterman jacket and she grabbed her books. "I'm sorry but I can't keep going on in this relationship. Goodbye Jayk."

"Alexis," I said as she walked away. I stood up and looked at the letterman jacket. "Alexis."

"You look lonely," said Avery. "What's going on?"

"You know exactly what is going on," I said. "Because of you, she broke up with me."

"Good," said Avery. "She isn't one of us."

"Everybody's equal," I said. "You like putting labels on people and I'm not okay with that."

"Relax," said Avery. "At least now we can get you back to perform in the talent show."

"You can perform in the talent show alone," I said. "I'm getting my boys and we're going to perform."

"Jayk," said Avery.

"No, Avery," I said. "Go find some other guy who would put up with your selfishness."
