Chapter 12

"Who are the Denali's?" I asked

"The Denali's are out cousin coven up in Alaska. Animal drinkers like ourselves." Alice said.

"When?" Emmett groaned.

"Tonight." Alice smirked.

"What's wrong Em? Don't want to see Tanya?" Jasper laughed.

"No would it be considered rude if I wasn't there at all?" Emmett sighed.

"Can't avoid her forever." Alice muttered.

"Who's Tanya?" I demanded.

"Tanya is a member of the Denali coven who has had a thing for Emmett for well.... A long time." Alice supplied. Jasper chuckled at my anger trying to ease it but to no avail.

"It's ok Nichole. I don't have feelings for her. If she couldn't get me to date her a hundred years ago she sure as hell can't now." Emmett whispered in my ear wrapping his arms around me.

"She's not that bad. Emmett just doesn't like her because she's always trying to seduce him." Alice giggled.

"We should go. Charlie is asleep so you should be good."Jasper said getting up. Alice jumped to her feet hugging me before taking Jasper's hand.

"I don't wanna." Emmett whined stomping his foot and tightening his grip around me.

"Then stay here until they leave." Jasper shrugged. "Go to school and come back here."

"Yeah. You can sneak me food and stuff." I said nudging him.

"Oh! I almost forgot. Here, you weren't at lunch but Esme made food for you." Alice said pulling a container of food from her bag. "She thinks you're too skinny and need to eat more."

"Gods bless that woman." I said pulling the lid off finding tacos packed tightly in the box. I picked one up quickly eating it. When I looked up again Alice and Jasper were gone.

"So this Tanya. What's she look like?" I asked bitterly

"Aww. Are you jealous?" Emmett grinned.

"No. I just want to know. And you should not be accusing me of jealously. You were about to rip Jim's head off at lunch your first day." I jabbed him chest with my finger with my free hand.

"Fair enough. But in my defense you called him 'Doll Face' and pinched his cheeks. So of course I assumed." Emmett countered.

"Grant found me after school. We no longer have history together." I laid my head on his chest still chewing a taco.

"What are you going to do now in the mornings?"

"Sleep, read, sleep most likely."

"Do you think your other teachers will do the same?"

"Well in fashion I already turned in my project. A few people have. So I could probably talk to the teacher and see if I can skip that class too. Which leaves me with three classes." I sighed.

"Will you take off the bandage? It's been bothering me all day." I said lifting my shirt a little.

Emmett carefully unwrapped the gauze Carlisle tightly wrapped around my torso and back. Emmett threw the wrappings in the trashcan by my desk.

"Does is look bad?" I whispered.

"It scabbed over. But it could have been worse." His voice was tight and strained. "Does it hurt?"

"No." I lied. Emmett was already having a hard time dealing with this and I didn't want to cause more problems. I laid down on my stomach just wanting to sleep, going to school was tiring.
