Don't panic. Don't panic. Even breaths. I opened the fridge casually moving around containers of food 'looking' for something. Pursing my lips I closed the fridge pulling out a note pad.
Black cloaks. Watching me. Don't come for me.
I stuffed the note inside my sweatpants pocket taking my tea out of the microwave normally. Bringing the mug up to my lips I took a long drink but 'accidentally' over tipping it causing the front of my body to be soaked in hot liquids. I sighed heavily putting the mug down to walk upstairs needing to change. I needed them to find the note if I was taken. Call me paranoid but years with Charlie you learn when to leave clues. Even if they are worthless leave something of yourself in places.
I pushed the door to Emmett's room open slipping my pants off, leaving them on the floor in the middle of the room along with the t-shirt I was wearing. I slipped on another t-shirt and a pair of sweats. I walked out of the room leaving the door open, which drove Emmett crazy.
I pulled out my phone dialing Jasper's number but turning down the speakers so I couldn't hear anything he said. I hummed a tune softly hoping he would stay on the line long enough to realize I was going crazy. He could tell if I was panicking even through the phone right? He could tell I was afraid just by hearing me right. I set my phone on the counter hoping he didn't hang up. I hummed Save Me by Christina Aguilera hoping he would catch on.
I turned around from the to leave the kitchen seeing two men standing twenty feet away from me. One was large like Emmett and the other was skinny, and shorter than the big one. I dropped the glass bowl I was holding, it shattering when it reached the floor.
"Who the fuck are you?" I demanded hoping, praying Jasper was still on the line. If he could read my feeling through the phone he might of told the others right?
"It doesn't matter who we are." The big one said. Both men were vampires I think. They looked like them but they had red eyes instead of gold. The conversation I had with Emmett came flashing back to me.
"Should I be worried about you trying to drink me when I'm asleep?" I teased
"I don't drink human blood. Only animal blood." Emmett rolled his eyes.
"What? Pray do tell." I said sitting down across from him.
"My family and I only drink animal blood. We joke we are vegetarian vampires. The normal human blood drinkers have red eyes instead of gold."
They're human drinkers. I'm going to die today aren't I? "Leave." I spat out. The big one was in front of me in an instant covering my mouth. A skinnier pair of arms wrapped around my body, pinning my arms down. I let out a muffled scream trying to kick them away from me. The big ones hand was suffocating me because it was covering almost half my face. I wiggled around in the arms helplessly losing consciousness. I went limp in the arms, slumping to the ground.
*NO POV*
The Cullens were somewhere in Canada when a buzzing disturbed the silence of the Forest. Alice let out a annoyed sigh wondering who it was calling her mate. Jasper scowled confused before answering, his family's eyes on him.
"What is it Nichole?" He asked. Why is she calling me instead of Emmett? He thought.
He put her on speaker and motioned his family to come forward. No response came but they could hear her walking somewhere. Her breathing was slow and steady but her heart rate was irregular.
"Nichole?" Emmett called. There was some muffled movement before all sound ceased. A soft hum came from the speakers. Jasper almost hung up when he caught it, the deep breaths Nichole was taking sounded like she was trying to calm herself down.
"She's afraid." Jasper whispered. "Her slow breathing is forced and her heart beat is changing every few beats."
"The tune... Its a song right?" Esme asked. They listened to the humming's melody.
"Save Me. Christina Aguilera." Rosalie said.
"She's afraid and wants to be saved?" Edward guessed.
"I'm going back." Emmett said not listening to anymore of the phone call.
There was a shatter coming from the other line. "Who the fuck are you?" A female voice demanded.
"It doesn't matter who we are." A deep male voice sounded farther away from the phone than the female.
"Leave." The female voice dripped with venom in the word. There was some shuffling before the muffled scream came. Jasper took the phone off speaker before running through the woods toward the house. Edward shot past him a second later, and everyone else could be heard behind him. There was more scuffling on the phone before it stopped completely. Then nothing could be heard on the other line. Complete silence.
Emmett burst into the house breaking the door down not bothering to stop running. Nichole couldn't be heard anywhere in the house. Two scents lingered in the house that didn't belong. Emmett walked into the kitchen finding a broken bowl shattered of the floor and Nichole's phone screen down on the counter.
Edward ran into the kitchen followed by Jasper and the rest of the family. Emmett looked sadly at the mess on the floor, he failed to protect her again. Carlisle scowled inhaling more of the scents. Alice ran around the house looking for something that looked misplaced.
Emmett walked out of the kitchen and ran up to his room to get his phone. But when he got there the door was already open. Nichole knew he hated it because of privacy and always closed it. But it was open. He walked in scanning the room for evidence of, well anything. He picked up Nichole's dirty clothes from the floor sighing. He threw the wet shirt into the clothes basket and was about to throw the pants when a crackling sound filled his ears.
Looking in the pockets he pulled out a piece of paper that was stuffed in the pocket haphazardly. He smoothed it out seeing Nichole's jagged scrawl.
Black cloaks. Watching me. Don't come for me.
"The Voltori have Nichole." I whispered.
