Secrets (Emmett Cullen Twilight fanfic)

Chapter 19

"Dammit Emmett McCarty god damn Cullen. I told you not to come after me!" I yelled standing up forgetting the ropes I was suppose to be tied up in. I walked over to Emmett angrily trying to punch his chest but he snatched my hand lightly kissing the top grinning. I rolled my eyes laughing softly. "You're a massive dork."

Emmett pulled me to his side gripping my waist softly trying to not hurt me. All the anger from before disappeared seeing me unharmed. "She talks!" Aro shrieks in delight. "Oh and Alice is here also, what a pleasant surprise!"

"Why has she been brought here?" Emmett demanded.

"We have been informed she knows our secret." Aro stated.

"Two days and now she talks." Dmitri grumbles behind me still mad about the sandwich.

"How did you tell him you were taken?" Caius sat up in his chair.

"Dumb and Dumber aren't exactly the stealthiest of people. Or the most observant." I snorted. A smile threatened to escape the confines of the frown on Marcus's face.

"The phone. I told you Felix!" Dmitri hissed.

"Me? You're the one who didn't want to read the paper she shoved in her pants. 'A grocery list.' " Felix mocked.

"Enough both of you." Caius hissed.

"Emmett may I?" Aro asked holding out his hand. Emmett grudgingly thrust his hand out for Aro.

"She does know. But Dmitri you should apologize for being so rude to our dear friend Nichole." Aro mused. I narrowed my eyes at Aro. Emmett turned around snarling at Dmitri, looking at him with pure hatred.

"Sorry." Dmitri muttered behind me.

"Can we leave now?" Emmett asked quickly.

"I'm afraid not. She knows too much." Aro sighed. "She either joins or..." Aro trails off.

"Yes. Join us here or die." Caius smiles sinisterly.

"Can I at least get some cake before I die because honestly I don't think I'm sane enough to hang around here for eternity nor do I want to. This castle is not the ideal place to be." I grumbled. Emmett looked down at me amused but his eyes were sad. Was he sad because we were about to die?

"Wait! The only vision I've had of her, see it." Alice exclaims holding her hand of to Aro. He takes her hand with a greedy gleam in his eyes. Why does he always look so greedy when he sees what's in other peoples minds? Secrets.

"And that's the last one you had of her?" Aro murmured.

"That's the only one I've had. Since I've met her she disappeared from my visions. Anything to do with her really. It's like she doesn't exist." Alice huffed annoyed.

"Edward. Can he hear her?" Aro asked curious. Alice shook her head. "I wonder... If she's immune to other powers... Jane?"

"NO!" Emmett lunged at the small girl from earlier. Some vampires standing around the thrones tensed but Emmett fell to the marble floor withering in agony.

"STOP!" I shrieked.

"Jane." Aro commanded. She blink breaking her gaze from Emmett who once she did fell still. Alice rushed over to help Emmett stand. I didn't even notice Jane gazing at me until Dmitri behind me fell to the floor screaming. Instantly Jane recoiled then concentrating on me again. Dmitri started groaning again before Jane stopped all together.

"I was hitting her! I wasn't focused on him at all!" Jane  stamped her foot on the ground.

"It went right through her." Aro mused. "Like she isn't there at all. What a strange gift she has. A shield perhaps or something more."

"Brother why not just let the human go? If they turn her sooner or later then what difference does it really make?" Marcus asked monotone.

"Such an amazing gift she possesses. It would be a pity to waste. Very well then." Aro sighed. "You may go."

The plane ride was long, and boring and I could not sleep at all during it because of the screaming kid two rows behind me. Honestly if your child is under five do not take them on the plane. It's common courtesy really.

Emmett kept apologizing for letting them take me, for not being there to protect me. I kept telling him it was fine, I didn't blame him but he just wouldn't listen.

"Nichole I'm really-" Emmett tried to start again. I grabbed his shirt forcibly pulling him to me. I pressed my lips against his to shut him up- which it did.

"Now listen here. I don't care what your apologizing for, because it doesn't matter anymore. Now if you're really sorry I expect chocolate cake when we land." I grinned lopsidedly. Emmett just shook his head pulling me next to his side. I laid my head on his shoulder finally able to fall asleep.
