(DeathMuster’s perspective)

The mouse I held in my hand less than a few seconds ago flew across my study, shortly followed by my computer screen and keyboard. The crashing sound reverberated throughout the entire house which was mostly decorated without furniture. Cursing, I picked up my mobile and began dialing.

“Life is all about escaping, Helena speaking. How may I help you?” The voice was pleasant, yet methodical.

“It’s me.” A sudden thud told me the phone fell on the floor, yet again.

“Ss- sorry, Sir. Transferring your call.” The faltering tone in Helena’s voice was undeniable this time. Somebody else should work on the phone over there, I grumbled.

“Mod Ash speaking,” said Ash across the line.

“It didn’t work man. It was just... so stupid!” I breathed heavily into the phone.

“What happened? She didn’t like it?” Ash asked calmly. I could picture him pulling out his comment/criticism menu and preparing to key in a new report.

“She said she felt caged, man! Not romantic. You guys made a lame cage! It’s not romance. It’s just a bloody cage!” I sputtered out the words quickly, trying to recall everything Ladylurve said to me earlier.

“Mhm… cage... lame romance… okay, got it. Anything else?” Ash maintained his cool on the other line.

“Dude!!! Get over yourself!!! You owe me big time!!!” I yelled into the receiver.

The line went quiet for a few second.

“Oi!” I shouted again. Then I heard a quiet, yet urgent whisper.

“I’m at work, you big jerk. Talk later. Be home in 2 hours. Bye.” The line went dead. I rolled my eyes and dialed another number while pouting my lips.

“Yes Sir?” The response was crisp and professional. My father would have been proud.

“The usual three.” I said flatly and hung up.

I was preparing myself for a shower when I heard a gentle knock on my door. I turned briefly and saw the butler carrying my new monitor, keyboard, and mouse, followed by two other maids.

Thirty minutes later, I was back in Lifescape. The sting from the failed attempt earlier today still lingering, hurting my pride. I played offline mode but parked myself in Ash’s personal clan chat. My avatar was parked by a mahogany tree, chopping idly whilst I busied myself with some graphical drawings.

Ninety minutes later, right on the dot, Ash logged into his clan chat.
