"Red, love! Give us another!" Donny yelled out to me as I looked over at the bar. Amy wasn't there, people were lining up.
"You are gonna have to hold that thought." I told Avery as I walked away.
Oh lord. Avery is here! Oh goodness.
"I'm not finished! I don't have time to waste!" He called out to me.
I quickly went back to him, my face told off anyone that knew me, I'm not in the mood.
"Will it make you happy if I just walked out of here? To just leave everything I have built for myself over the past three years, just leave it all behind?" I asked him in an innocent tone.
Avery looked like he didn't know how to reply to that.
"You know what will make me so happy? You leaving." I went back to the bar and pretended the last seven minutes didn't happen.
"What took ya?" Dave stirred at me. Ah it's about 5pm if Dave is in. I poured him his scotch on ice and gave him the tumbler.
"There ya go." I smiled at him.
"Look out. Someone is being nice." Donny poked at Dave.
I raised my brows and smiled sweetly at them. "Not all girls are made of sugar and everything nice." I grinned at them as I poured another beer.
"What are you made of then, love?"
I thought about it. "Courage, intelligence, adventure, coffee, cake and very naughty words." I whispered at them as they laughed.
Donny raised his beer. "To red heads! Fiery and loud!"
"Pfft." I scolded at them. "Mate, no. To me, the only redhead that stepped in and left a mark!" I giggled as I raised John's beer to the toast.
Donny and Dave cheered as John grumbled for his beer back.
I finished off an hour later.
"I'm off, Gav." I called.
"Right, love. See ya tomorrow."
I saw Avery was still here. "Yeah. Tomorrow." I yelled back as I walked out of the bar with a can of bourbon. I cracked it open and sat outside, relieved to be off my feet.
I placed a cigarette in my mouth, digging in my bag for my lighter. Where did I put it?
Suddenly I felt the smoke pulled out off my mouth as I frowned, looking at my next victim.
"I've already wasted more than enough time here. I need to head back as soon as possible. No more games, Alexandra."
I groaned. "You're not helping your case." I found my lighter in my bra and pulled out another smoke and lit it.
"I'm serious. I'm tired and I want to go."
I sat there, drinking my drink, looking anywhere but at Avery.
"I'm talking to you, Alexandra." He snapped at me. It didn't affect me at all.
"Please don't interrupt me while I'm ignoring you. If you wish to drone on, please come back while I'm not sober."
I took another draw of my smoke. I saw how it irritated it made him. I took in another mouthful before Avery took the cigarette and threw it in to the ash bucket.
"Look, I'm not going anywhere with you. So stop disturbing me. I'm disturbed enough already."
"You have business to deal with and you're expected at the funeral."
