I finally managed to get Cally back in a good mood, but only after she told me tidbits of what's been happening.
We pulled in to the Montgomery Estate and I had knots in my stomach. "Okay." I said to myself as I stepped out of the car. "I can do this." Then I turned to Cally. "Couldn't you get a hotel room or something?"
She looked at me in a weird manner. "Why? This is my parents house. I can stay too if I want to." She bit out.
"Oh. I didn't know that. I thought it was Avery's place. I didn't mean it like that." I apologised to Cally. "I just thought that Avery was giving you an allowance and you might have stayed elsewhere away from him..." I muttered.
"Wow." Cally said. "If you just wanted the house to you and Avery for the night, you could have just said!" Cally laughed and I walked off, hiding the heat in my cheeks but in a way I am so glad she didn't take that personally.
"Where is he?" I asked her.
Cally shrugged as she opened the front door. "Don't know. Don't care. Most likely at work." I followed her to the kitchen and she poured us both some cold water.
"What about Sebastian?" I asked her. I feel nervous. The day before my apparent wedding, he told me not to marry Avery, he thought Avery was using me. He thought Avery didn't love me. Clever. He worked it all out and I lied to him.
"Is that a certain ranga I hear?" I heard the voice echo through.
"Yep!" I yelled back. "I forgot to collect ya souls to add to my freckles collection!" I laughed as Bash walked in to the room. I went up and hugged him, laughing.
"Where did ya go? All Avery said was there was an emergency."
I blinked. Oh, yes. "Yeah. Family."
Cally frowned. "You don't have any family. Oh god, that sounded so rude! I'm so sorry."
I waved her off. "It's okay. Family isn't just blood."
"Avery's gonna flip when he sees you. He might get out off that foul mood." Cally stated as she led me to the sitting room. I still had my duffel bag strapped on me and here she was, pushing me from one room to another.
As soon as I heard Avery's name, I zoned out. I can't help it. My radar just breaks on the mention of his name.
"I'm assuming you're not getting married since you're only in for the weekend?"
Goodness, Cally, I thought to myself. Put a lid on it.
"You're only in for the weekend?" Bash asked me.
"Yeah, I have a meeting Monday and I thought I would surprise ya both." I smiled sadly at Bash. "At least I can rely on you to point out the negatives."
Sebastian gave me a weak smile in return. "What was so important for you to skip out on your own wedding?"
What is this I'm getting from Bash? "I didn't. Avery told me about what happened. He told me to go."
Bash stayed silent a bit longer while I frowned at him. I couldn't understand what was wrong with him. In a span of a week, this was a completely different person.
"Whatever. I'm sorry, I've gotta go." He said with a shrug before leaving the room.
"Don't worry about Bash. He has been in a crabby mood for a couple days now." Cally said before pulling me by my arms and turning some music on. "Come! We'll have a dance party!"
I giggled at her as she started to move her hips.
"What? I dance with two left feet. Why?" But I still started taking small steps and moved my hips.
