Part 6
The JOURNRY
The girl shot up. A hoarse gasp escaped her mouth as if she'd woken up from a nightmare. She was on the same sofa that she'd woken up when The Whitetails had rescue her from that filthy room.
Cecelia furrowed her brows, to question what the hell she doing in The Wolf's Den again. She looked around, only to see Wheaty sat on one of the chairs opposite to the sofa. His eyes were fixated on her and only her.. His hand was embracing his neck like he'd been strangled or nearly hanged until he passed out.
"You alright?" He asked in a monotone voice, not seeming concerned or worried for her.
The girl stared until she began to think of answer to say him. "Why am I here?"
"You don't remember?" Wheaty looked up. He was tense just by looking at her like she'd hurt him.
A sudden throb, emerged on her forehead. Cecelia's fingers lightly touched the area to which was the source of the pain. Her teeth gritted when she realised it was a cut, and her finger pulled away quickly. The blood was dry and now it stained her skin much like her insufferable tears.
Cecelia was clueless -didn't know anything and had no recollection of what happened the last few days. It was a blur; it made her head spin to know that she couldn't remember anything. She at least thought to attempt to recollect that last two weeks. Though it was foggy and she kept remembering Amelia -which didn't help to save the life of her.
Eli came into the room with Tammy and another man. The man's name was Walker, he helped Eli and Wheaty rescue from the forsaken room.
"Good, you're awake," Eli said, hovering over her.
"Why am I here?" Cecelia asked Eli as well. It was the question that seemed to matter to her the most.
Wheaty kept glancing at Cecelia, who had her legs crossed on the couch. She was discombobulated and disoriented by almost everything and in a way, Wheaty felt sorry for her. Everything she had was taken away from her in less than a month and now she had nothing.
He unraveled his hand to see a glimmering necklace to which he had found it buried beneath the shrubs of grass after he'd knocked the girl to the ground, but he kept it from Cecelia until the right moment.
"We rescued you," Tammy said, "they were gonna take you to Holland Valley."
"They were gonna take you to John Seed. Make you confess your 'sins' and that shit," Wheaty explained. Cecelia started to stare at him for a few moments. She had no idea who John Seed was, but his last name she figured it was one of Jacob's brother.
"Jacob's brother?" Wheaty nodded to Cecelia's quarrel. "Then what happened?"
Eli sighed which led to Cecelia to furrow her brows again. Tammy made an uncomfortable gesture which suggested to Cecelia that someone happened and something was wrong. Walker stayed silent, maybe he didn't dare to say anything without the order of Eli, "What happened Eli?" Cecelia's voice was dangerously low.
"You were out of control," Eli bluntly stated.
"What does that mean?" Cecelia questioned. The fact that she didn't know anything about what happened started to play with her mind and making her distressed in the process.
The room fell silent. Except for the noise occurring around the room. A million ghost could have been heard if they spoke out, it was that silent.
"What does that mean?" Cecelia repeated. She was stressed by the concerned look on Eli's face and the distilled sweat that broke out on her forehead.
