four hours later, ryan was there.

he knocked on the door, cassidy answering and smiling.

"oh boy, ryan, you are in for a dinner. it's gonna be a special one."

"wait, did something happen?"

"i don't want to spoil it. but they're all at the table already. including my brother."

"okay. thanks."

ryan walked to the table, everyone staring at him as he sat down.

"brace yourself," brendon whispered in his ear as soon as he had taken his seat.

"so," started grace. "we've heard about you and brendon."

ryan's palms started to get sweaty, brendon grinning like an idiot.

"oh," was all ryan could say.

"and we're completely fine with it, as long as you and brendon are clean or whatever," explained boyd.

ryan was immediately relieved, brendon's stupid smile still plastered on his face.

"i ship you guys so fucking hard," said cassidy.

"what does ship mean?" terri asked, brendon whispering, "oh shit."

"it means that you think that two people should be together,"

"oh."

"like for example, i ship sam and gabriel from supernatural, so that means i think they should be a couple."

"wow, cas explained that really well," ryan said sarcastically and quietly to brendon.

"my grandma didn't even have to ask again. that's rare."

"i'm glad that you guys are okay with it. and yes, i am clean, and so is brendon. i got tested about a week ago before him and i, well, you guys know. i'm so grateful that you guys don't bash us about it being unnatural or disgusting like tons of other people do. and i promise that i will never hurt your son in a billion years."

"i'm lucky to have someone like you, ry."

brendon then kissed his boyfriend on the cheek, cassidy saying, "aw!" and the rest of the family smiling.

"we just want you guys to be happy, that's all that matters."

"thanks, mom. i really appreciate it."

"but, we have one more thing to ask you," said boyd.
