Airport Misfortune

Why, of all times, would the bad storm decide to hit hard on this exact day? Pwede namang never na. But I guess today is my unlucky day.

Kanina sa connecting flight ko from London to Hong Kong, natapunan ako ng kape ng katabi ko. Wala man lang enough decency to own up his mistake. To top it all, bigla biglang mag a-announce na canceled ang flight because of the weather condition and we just have to wait for further announcements. Can this day get any better?!

I'm supposed to be home today because tomorrow's the wedding day of my boyfriend's sister. Special request pa naman ni Janina sa kapatid niya na dapat present kaming dalawa on her special day. Janina has been so good to me and I wouldn't wanna miss her wedding dahil for sure magtatampo sa akin yun. So when JM called to inform me about the request, I immediately accepted it. Ayun nga lang, I was caught up with work and all kaya cramming ang paguwi ko ng Pilipinas.

With the wrong order of coffee on my left hand and my right hand clutching on my luggage, I sat by one of the benches as I wait for that to-be-announced notice. I fished out the novel that I brought with me from my bag and flipped through the page where I last read.

Where was I again?

Ahh...yes. Mia meets Adam once again.

This very unforunate love story of two young lovers separated by life's circumstances. Their story hits close to my heart. At some point of my life, I've been in Mia's shoes...well except for the accident part. Anyway, I was young back then and it was all in the past. Dapat focus lang tayo sa present and future.

"Not all sad beginnings end up bad just how it started. You work out things for you to have a happy ending."

I heard someone murmured beside me.

"Where She Went...nice choice."

Wala ba itong magawa s----

I take it back. I wish I didn't mind at all. Now I got the shock of my life. Of all places, dito ko pala talaga siya makikita ulit? At the most unexpected time? In the most unlikely manner? Lord, bakit naman napakamalas ko ngayon?

Big black bold orbs meet the brown soft ones. The woman's expression was pleasant, with an inkling of wistfulness, while the soft glimmer of her lucid eyes reflect mine. For a second, my eyes scanned her whole being. She still rocks her shoulder-length straight cut, only this time it's in the shade of ash. It didn't seem like she aged either. Her apperance conveys youthfulness.

"Miss me?" A smug look suddenly appeared on her face.

And of course her cockiness never changed, ladies and gentlemen.

I just rolled my eyes and went back to reading.
