"Good morning Sunshine!" It was Liam's voice. I woke up startled. I must have sleep through the night because the sun was shining bright through the drapes. He had the same clothes on. "You were here all night?" he was sitting in my old vintage armchair with a huge pizza on his lap."Yeah... I use the couch by the way" he added sarcastically.
But I fell asleep on the couch. How did I end up here in my bedroom? "Did you carry me here?"
"Oh boy! yeah...I didn't know you weren't a morning person. You're asking too many questions." He said teasingly. "Anyway, how are you feeling?"
My fingers ran through my messy curls while trying my best to remember the last thing I remembered "It wears off in few hours. I'm fine."
"What happened to you, really?" I knew he was gonna ask this.
"I had some concussions after the accident" Lying to him would only make him question me more.
"Let me guess, I'm the first one to know." His eyes never left mine.
I stood up pulling my hair in to a messy bun right over my head, like that would distract him "You're the first to witness it actually. If they knew, then I would be in the town's hospital for the next couple of years." I grinned not meeting his stare.
"You shouldn't take these things lightly, you know." Seeing his face was not needed that he was serious.
"Haven't you heard the saying, 'Don't take life seriously, nobody gets out alive anyway'..." I joked but he was not in the mood. So I gave up. "I'm hungry, like I haven't had anything for years"
"I ordered a pizza for you too. Chicken tikka with extra cheese” How did he know? For the shortest time we have known each other I never mentioned it. He probably figured out that I was confused from the look I gave. "What? That's your favorite? Mel told me once, that you two would die for It." he shoved another piece in his mouth.
I practically exhaled after making sure that it’s not from telepathy he found out my favorite. "Thank you" I brushed my teeth before joining with him back again to treat myself some chicken tikka. "You don't have classes today?" I turned to him taking a big bite.
"I do" His mouth was full "Not going though. Mel called; she told that you got classes afternoon. I can give you a ride."
"You shouldn't have done that Liam. I can take care of myself-"
He cut me short "Yeah! Saw that myself yesterday" He grabbed the last piece left in the box. I was finishing mine as fast as I could because he was faster.
"Okay fine." I knew I couldn't argue with that. "So Mel called huh?" I asked playfully.
He stood up "Let me get this straight, you're gonna play the cupid for us?" He headed to the refrigerator in my small living room.
I followed him finishing the sixth piece "If I have to, yes" He grabbed the juice carton, shook it and tossed it in to the bin in the corner. Of course I must go on grocery shopping sooner. "She's a nice girl and you deserve someone like that."
"For the record, you too are a nice girl." He poured milk into two glasses.
"Yeah, but unfortunately I'm not in love with you." Maybe it sounded rude. I had to say that.
"Ouch" He winced pushing one of the milk glasses toward me.
"I told you once Liam. We may have known each other for a couple of days, and I do believe you are an alright guy but I am clearly not the all right girl for you. Melanie and you... you guys would be so great."
