MNet is having different Kpop groups cover each other's songs. While Chae-Lee, Seoyeon, Young-Ki, Bre, and Luna are covering "Red Flavor" by Red Velvet, Jaeyeon, Jewel, Mihyung, and Natty are doing a cover to Blackpink's song "Ddu-du-ddu-du Ddu" for their performance.

(backstage, Jaeyeon POV)

Today is the idol cover performance special on MNet, where different Kpop groups cover each other's songs. My brother and his group did a cover to EXO's "Monster" earlier. While Chae-Lee, Seoyeon, Young-Ki, Bre, and Luna are performing, I was getting dressed in my outfit for the stage I'm doing with Mihyung, Jewel, and Natty.

We're doing a cover to Blackpink's "Ddu-du-ddu-du Ddu". Earlier, we did a song switch with Blackpink and Red Velvet, and the members of the band picked who they wanted to do their parts for the songs. Jewel, Mihyung, Natty, and I got asked to do Blackpink, while the others did a cover to Red Velvet's "Red Flavor". Blackpink will do our debut song "Magic" while Red Velvet does our second title track "True Love".

Young-Ki is doing Irene's parts, Chae-Lee is doing Seulgi's parts, Bre is doing Wendy's parts, Seoyeon is doing Joy's parts, and Luna is doing Yeri's parts. They're currently wrapping up their performance on stage while we get ready backstage.

I'm doing Jisoo's parts, Mihyung is doing Jennie's parts, Jewel is doing Rosé's parts, and Natty is doing Lisa's parts. I meet them near the stage so I can get my mic. "Okay, just checking, do we have the dance and lyrics memorized?" I asked them.

Natty says, "Yes I do." "Mihyung, I know you're a great rapper and all," I explained, "but do you have Jennie's fast rap part down?" "Of course I do. I've basically practiced it when the song released. Jennie Unnie is a great rapper and one of my inspirations," Mihyung explains. Jewel says, "Looks like we're good."

Chae-Lee comes backstage with Luna, Bre, Young-Ki, and Seoyeon, and says, "The stage is all yours. Good luck." "Thanks," we said to Chae-Lee. We head to the stage and got positioned. Not only did the unnies from Blackpink let us do a cover to the song, they even let us borrow some outfits they wore while performing the song:

(stage, Natty POV)

On stage, the music starts as we start dancing. Then, Mihyung starts rapping the first set of lyrics, and we did the dance same way Blackpink does. She replaces "Black 하면 pink" with "L.O.V.E. 하면 9". Once Mihyung is done, I do Lisa's rap. I even give off the same attitude as Lisa while I do so.

Jewel starts singing Rosé's parts when I'm done rapping as we continue dancing. After Jewel, Jaeyeon does Jisoo's singing parts. When Jaeyeon finishes Mihyung starts off the key dance when she says "Hit you with that ddu-du-ddu-du du!" which we follow along with.

After we shout "L.O.V.E. 9!" Mihyung starts the fast rap she learned from Jennie. Then Jaeyeon starts singing again. Jewel chimes in after Jaeyeon is finished. I then say the "Hit you with that ddu-du-ddu-du du!" part while we all do the key dance.

We finished the chorus a second time as Jewel starts doing Rosé's singing part. I then do Lisa's part as we all start dancing. While we continue dancing, Jaeyeon and Jewel start doing the rest of the parts.

Mihyung does the next to last dance move, and we joined her. She finishes off by saying "Hit you with that ddu-du-ddu-du du!" as we do the point dance, and soon, we strike the ending pose. The audience applauds us.

(Jewel POV)

The audience must really love our cover performance of Blackpink's "Ddu-du-ddu-du" to cheer for us like this. We hurried off stage after a while so the next group can go on. The boys were talking to EXO Seonbae, who are going to do a cover to "One Shot".

"Great performance out there girls," Sehun Seonbae says. I told him, "It was nothing. We practiced the song and dance a lot at the studio when we found out Blackpink Unnies let us cover their latest song."

"We can't wait to see your performance soon, Seonbae," Jaeyeon says. Minjae says, "I heard you guys paid close attention to us when we first did 'One Shot'." "Of course we did," Suho Seonbae says, "You guys are a spectacular group. Street Boyz and L.O.V.E. 9 are gaining a lot of popularity."

"Especially since the famous Im Twins are the leaders of the groups," Baekhyun Seonbae says. Natty says, "They're fantastic leaders Baekhyun Seonbae. When we rehearsed 'Ddu-du-ddu-du', Jaeyeon was making sure we could handle doing the lyrics and dance moves to the song."

"I think you girls pulled if off very well," Xiumin Seonbae says. Chanyeol Seonbae explains, "I know you guys are rookies, but I think you sounded like professionals. Especially Mihyung when she did Jennie's rap parts. I wouldn't expect less from the Pretty Unpretty Rapstar of L.O.V.E. 9."

"Gomawoyo Chanyeol Seonbae," Mihyung says while bowing. After the other group on stage finishes, it was EXO's turn to perform. D.O. Seonbae says, "We're heading to the stage now." "I hope you guys like the performance," Chen Seonbae says, "watch us."

"We will EXO Seonbae," Adam says, walking up to me to wrap his arm around my waist. The boys and I went backstage to find Chae-Lee, Seoyeon, Young-Ki, Bre, and Luna sitting on the sofa in the lounge room.

(lounge room, Minjae POV)

We sat in the lounge room with the girls, watching EXO Seonbae perform our debut song "One Shot" on stage. Since Suho Seonbae is the leader of EXO, he is doing my parts. So far, they're doing great. The girls were enjoying it.

"This is just as great as seeing you guys cover 'Monster'," Jaeyeon says. I tell her, "You think so, sis?" She and the other girls nodded. "Good job on the 'Red Flavor' and 'Ddu-du-ddu-du' performances you guys," Hyun-Joon says. The girls thanked us.

Right now, they're just singing. D.O. Seonbae is doing Bong-Un's parts. Chen Seonbae is doing Jinseok's parts. Xiumin Seonbae is doing Kwang-soo's parts. Lay Seonbae is doing Hyun-Joon's parts.

When it gets to Eunhyuk, Kouta, and TJ's rap parts, we were astonished. Chanyeol Seonbae took over Eunhyuk's parts, because they're both the main rappers. Kai Seonbae did TJ's rap parts, and Sehun Seonbae did Kouta's rap parts. "We can see why they partnered you up with Chanyeol Seonbae for Show Me The Money," I say to Eunhyuk.

He then says, "We're both amazing rappers. And I wanted to learn from the best." "That you certainly did, Oppa," Jaeyeon says to Eunhyuk. As EXO finishes, our jaws dropped when Baekhyun Seonbae was hitting the high note on Adam's parts.

After some more performances, which included Red Velvet and Blackpink, the show wraps up. We of course got on stage with our fellow performers and waved to the fans.

(dorm, Young-Ki POV)

The girls and I were watching Street Boyz, EXO, Red Velvet and Blackpink's performances again, as well as our own. When they did our covers, we traded parts with each other.

Which meant that in Read Velvet, Irene did my parts, Seulgi did Chae-Lee's parts, Wendy did Bre's parts, Joy did Seoyeon's parts, and Yeri did Luna's parts. And the same goes for Blackpink and Street Boyz.

"I would love to do this again sometime," I said. Jaeyeon says, "Yeah. Definitely. Seeing this kind of makes me want to dance to 'Boombayah' by Blackpink." "The groups were nice to let us borrow their outfits, too," Seoyeon says.

"Maybe we'll get to do some dance covers on Men On A Mission tomorrow with the boys," Natty says. Luna says, "Cute school uniforms! Yay!!" "We should be well rested for tomorrow then," Jaeyeon says. We nodded and went to bed.

Sorry if this chapter stinks. I got the idea for this from me doing cover dances, and my love for Blackpink's song "Ddu-du-ddu-du". I bet it would be fun to see them perform this in real life, huh?
