Mettaton May be seductive but Mettaton also likes cute things, right? Also Papyrus wants to be popular and have lots of friends! Mettaton can give that to his bonefriend! This one is a fannon relationship you gotta imagine.
So picture it. Papyrus has been watching Mettaton's show since day one and admired him. Sans finally decided to go with him for a show on his birthday, including meeting Mettaton. Alpha said gave him the hook ups after learning of his celebrity crush on the other male.
So papyrus is out in the crowd, watching Mettaton with awe in his eyesockets. Mettaton hears from Alphys that he has a birthday boy in the crowd. Alphys told him all about papyrus, and just the idea of a skeleton so innocent and sweet who unconditionally loved him brought warmth to his robotic heart.
So he calls Papyrus up as a special guest and introduces him to the whole underground, granting him more friends. He wishes him a happy birthday and has him do a few performances with him, giving him a good day with his idol
After the show stops airing and everyone else left, Mettaton gives him a kiss on the cheek and says:
