The days turned into weeks, and just when we thought we would make it to the trial without any more drama, things turned upside down. Betty came in with the mail one morning and stopped when she saw a brown envelope.

"Hey, Ally?" Betty looked up at me with her brows furrowed, "Does this handwriting look familiar?"

I took one look at the envelope and my blood ran cold. It had been almost six years since I'd seen that handwriting, but I knew it to be Penny Peabody's. I looked at the envelope and sighed, "Betty, this is from the snake charmer."

Betty frowned at me and whispered, "Should we get Jughead and Sweet Pea? It doesn't say not to, and I almost don't feel like you should open this."

I bit my lip and nodded, and Betty led me out to the patio to join our husbands. I slid the envelope between them and sighed, "That's Penny Peabody's handwriting. It's a big envelope, so I doubt it's a greeting card."

A few minutes later, Sweet Pea was opening the envelope as everyone sat around the table with worried looks on their faces. When Sweet Pea glanced inside, he stood and motioned to Fangs and Toni to follow him, taking the envelope with him to the patio. He didn't open it again until they were outside behind a shut door, but we saw Toni scream when she saw the contents and Fangs turn around and punch a wall. My stomach sank, and I ran out to them.

"Sweet Pea, what's in the envelope?" I asked pleadingly, ignoring the fire in his eyes and his clenched fists as he held it.

"You don't wanna know, Cat," he whispered with a shaking voice, "Trust me, you don't wanna know."

I frowned at him and snatched the envelope. I peeked inside and immediately turned and vomited all over the concrete at my feet. Sweet Pea let out a jagged breath and pulled me close to him, stroking my hair and trying to reassure me that everything was going to be ok.

Once we regained our composure Toni, Fangs Sweets and I made our way back to the dining room and sat back down. Betty look scared, and Jughead had a cross between anger and worry in his eyes as he took in the looks on all of our faces.

"What's in the envelope?" Jug asked, barely managing to keep his voice steady.

"A declaration of war, Jughead," Sweet Pea sighed and looked around the table, his eyes fixing on Veronica, "Your psycho dad and his cronies had FP's tattoos cut off, and they're threatening to take Allyson's next."
