Harvey walked into Pearson Specter Litt with a smile on his face, telling William Sutter to drop dead had certainly brightened his mood.
'You look happy, I already know why.' Donna told him, trying to escape the story he'd tell her. 'I have a surprise for you, don't freak out.'
Harvey raised his eyebrows, 'Really? Where is it?'
Donna smiled, 'She is waiting in your office.'
Harvey shot her a smirk in return, 'I'll suppose I'll have a look then.'
He turned towards his office and walked inside, a woman sitting there. She turned around to look at him and he froze.
'Kyra,' he muttered in disbelief.
And she had not yet forgiven him, but she smiled and said, 'Hello, Harvey.'
Harvey put his hand on the wall in hope to get some support from it. Kyra noticed and walked towards him, into his embrace. With her head on his chest and his hands holding her close, afraid she'd vanish into thin air if he let go. And it felt so familiar.
Slowly Kyra pulled away from his embrace to look at him, 'Long time no see, huh?'
Harvey looked down upon the girl that he had only been able to see in old pictures for fifteen years. And he had not yet forgiven her either. But right now, neither of them cared.
'How... how... did... what?' he asked her, not being able to find his words.
A smile appeared on her face, 'You've gotta be a bit clearer than that.'
Harvey smiled, 'Did Donna track you down?'
Kyra nodded, 'Yes, although I wouldn't call it tracking down. Same state, same old town. I don't live with my parents anymore though.'
Harvey chuckled and Donna decided to leave, giving the two of them some space. Jessica however was not as aware of their situation and walked inside.
'I heard you-,' she stopped mid sentence as she noticed that there was another person in the room. Not just any person, a very alternatively dressed woman in Harvey's arms. 'Well... Harvey... Who is this?'
Kyra flushed a bright red, however her embarrassment did not stop her from beating Harvey to introduce herself. 'Kyra Anderson, pro-bono lawyer.'
Jessica nodded, 'Well, Kyra. It's very nice to meet you, what brings you here?'
Kyra bit her lip, looking at Harvey for support. But Harvey was just as curious as Jessica was.
'Donna, called me yesterday morning. Told me I had to get here, because Harvey's friend was in jail and his firm was collapsing,' Kyra mumbled. Jessica however was still confused and Kyra decided to continue, 'She said you could use a lawyer that didn't care for their image, that almost every lawyer had left.'
Jessica nodded happily, 'Indeed we do, we are willing to give you a decent salary in exchange for your help.'
'We'll give her a senior partner salary, just like we pay Donna,' Harvey said, hinting to Jessica that he'd pay the bonus.
Jessica frowned, but nodded. 'I heard you went to see William Sutter.'
Harvey's eyes were still focused on Kyra when said, 'Someone had to tell him to drop dead in person.'
Kyra nodded, she had heard of the bastard, he was a dirty criminal.
Jessica however didn't look as pleased, 'I thought we agreed we were gonna take him on.'
Kyra raised her eyebrow, Harvey noticed and shot her a small smirk. 'That was before I made us legal counsel for the largest energy producer on the East Coast.'
Jessica smiled, knowing she should no longer be surprised by all the tricks Harvey had up his sleeve. 'You signed Nathan Burns?'
Kyra looked at Harvey in admiration, Nathan Burns was a pretty big deal. But she couldn't help the nagging voice in the back of her head, Harvey did big clients now. Nothing about putting the "bad guys" away.
Harvey took a sip from his whisky, 'I did.'
Jessica raised on her feet, 'Well, I hope that you know what you're doing, Harvey, because we could've had them both.'
Kyra rolled her eyes and Harvey sighed, 'Jessica, I learned my lesson. When you lie down with dogs, you come up with fleas, and I'm telling you, we did the right thing.'
'Then put some music on, because we're back on the map.'
Harvey raised his glass, 'To being back on the map.'
Jessica poured a drink and reached it out towards Kyra, who's eyes widened. 'Oh, no I don't drink,' she said, 'not the strong things.'
Harvey smiled and looked at Kyra, thinking she hadn't changed a bit. But how wrong he was.
'To drawing a new one.' Jessica said as she raised her glass.
'Should we get Louis?' Harvey asked.
Jessica mentally snorted, 'Aw, come on. He takes one sip, we'll have to hear that story, about the first time he got laid.'
Kyra choked silently on the water she had provided herself.
Harvey rolled his eyes, 'We'd be lucky if that's the story we get to hear.'
A man unknown to Kyra walked inside, grey hair and dressed in suit, 'Wow, you guys are drinking?'
Kyra wanted to argue against him, but quickly got that it was important and stopped with her glass mid-air.
'You haven't even heard my news yet.'
Harvey turned toward him, 'You figured out a way to get Gallo transferred?'
Kyra frowned, who was Gallo? And why did he have to be transferred to anything?
'Even better. I figured out a way to get Mike out early.'
Kyra's eyes widened, they were talking about jail. Mike was Harvey's friend, so naturally she felt happy for Harvey. But slowly she started to run cold, because if Mike was back... Harvey wouldn't need her anymore.
'You're kidding me,' Harvey said in disbelief.
'You think I came all the way down to bullshit you?'
Jessica however wasn't convinced, 'There's no such thing as a free lunch, Sean, so what's the catch?'
Sean Cahill sighed, 'He has to inform on one of his fellow inmates.'
Harvey's hope disappeared, 'What makes you think he can get close to this guy?'
Cahill smiled, 'Oh, I don't think that's going to be a problem,' he continued after a pause, 'It's his roommate.'
'Listen to me, Mike's never gonna go for this. So why don't you tell me what the you're talking about?' Harvey asked.
Sean sighed, 'Kevin Miller's a smoking gun on another case. We tried to get him to turn on his family, but he wouldn't. Mike gets him to turn or figures out how to get what we need out of him anyway, he's free.'
Harvey jumped at the opportunity, 'When do you need an answer by?'
'Yesterday. And the answer needs to be yes.' Sean said as he walked away.
Kyra frowned, it was a cocky move. But right now, she knew that even she was ready to strike. Right now, she didn't care what she had to do. She had to help Harvey and get Mike out, even if that meant that Harvey wouldn't need her anymore and she might never see him again.
