Chapter 20: Another Dead Brother

Skylar's POV

Emmett and I were now slow dancing at the party as until Klaus came out.

"Ladies and gentlemen, if I could have you're attention please. Hayley if you would join me, I'd like to propose a toast." Klaus said as the music stopped and everyone gathered around. "I want to welcome you all, as you know last spring Hayley and I had a daughter. Due to tragic circumstance she was lost, now she has returned home. Her name is Hope. And she will live here among you, her pack, her family. We implore you to protect her, treat her, love her as one of your own." Klaus then took a glass of champagne and raised it. "Jackson, I invite you and you're bride to live here, uniting your proud and nobel people in peace. Welcome to the family mate. To Jackson and Hayley!"

Everyone raised they're glass and took a sip before going back to the party. Later while the guests were still partying I was with Hope, Emmett, Dean, Sam, and Klaus when Elijah and Rebekah, who got switched into a witches body, came in looking upset.

"Guys, what's wrong?" I asked.

"It's Kol, I couldn't help him. Finn's spell that he put on him, it's too strong. He's gonna die by tonight." Rebekah frowned.

And with that we left Sam and Dean with Hope and followed her out of the house to the cemetery.

"Are you okay?" We heard Davina cry.

"I think I'd rather be alone for this, D." Kol coughs about to leave into a crypt.

"Now I'm afraid that's not an option." Elijah said as we gained his attention.

"Always and Forever isn't something you can weasel out on, brother." Klaus  stated.

We all helped Kol into the crypt and laid him down on the ground.

"You know, all my life, all I wanted was someone to care about me." Lol said then let out a cough ad he coughed up blood.

"Kol, listen to us. You don't have long. You're going to die." I cried as he put his head in my lap. "You will die a witch, and we will consencrate your body, you're spirit will be with the ancestors of the French Quarter, those spirits can be brought back."

"And I promise brother, I will not leave this body until I find a way to bring you back." Rebekah vowed as Kol started crying as well.

"I tried a different spell." Davina said but then started to cry again as she saw it wouldn't work.

"Je t'aime." Kol spoke in French with a smile before it turned to a frown and the life left hid eyes.

"Kol? Kol?" I cried shaking his body but Emmett slowly pulled me away as Klaus did the same to Rebekah and we cried into their shoulders.

After a while we headed back to the house leaving Rebekah and Davina with Kols body. Luckily the house was empty when we got back.

"He's gone?" Dean asked as I nodded while tears stained my face.

Sam gave Hope back to Hayley and the boys engulfed me in a hug and said they're sorrows to Klaus and Elijah who kindly but sadly accepted.

Klaus even ended up accepting Sam as Hope's imprint, after losing Kol, he finally saw he couldn't do the same to his daughter now or in the future by keeping her from him.

"I'm heading to bed." I mumbled and went upstairs and got into my pajamas as Emmett comforted me.
