Chapter 10

No. Fucking. Way.

"Travis? Like as in the Travis Charles that helped kill-," before I could finish my sentence, Travis cut me off.

"I tried to stop them! They wouldn't listen! They killed her! Not me!" He shouted, making the patient flinch due to fear and to their arm being held. As Travis finished shouting, he looked down, "I didn't want her to go...I loved her."

That angered me, how dare he say that about her. How could he say he loved her when he helped kill her?! I clenched my fist, I was about to say something when I realized Alex was probably so confused about what we were talking about. As if on cue, Alex asked, "Who are you guys talking about? What happened?"

Travis and I looked at Alex, Travis gave me the look pretty much saying 'you tell him'. I sighed and faced Alex.

Flashback~6 Years

My sister, Lily and I were heading out for some school supplies for me since the new school year was about to start. We got into her car and drove to Staples, as soon as she turned on the car music filled the air. We started jamming out to Taylor Swift.

"Say you'll remember me,

Standin' in a nice dress, staring at the sunset babe,

Red lips and rosy cheeks,

Say you'll see me again even if it's just in your wildest dreams

..."

As we were jamming out, Lily got a call from her boyfriend. Of course, I had to tease her.

"Oooh, is your boyfriend calling?" I teased. Lily just rolled her eyes.

"Yes, Jay, it is my boyfriend. And one day, you will have a boyfriend that calls you," she picks up the call, "Hey babe, what's up?... Yeah, I'm just taking Jordan school supply shopping right now...Wait, what are you saying? You know what, I'll call you over when I'm not driving."

After she hung up she threw her phone into one of the cupholders, she let out a frustrated sigh. I looked over at her confused, "What's wrong?"

She looked at me, then smiled, "Oh, it's nothing but a little miscommunication. We're going to clear things up later. Nothing for you to worry about, okay?"

I smiled, "Okay!"

As we pulled into the Staples parking lot, I noticed there was a familiar car. I think Lily realized it too because she gripped the steering wheel tighter. I looked over at her and asked, "Isn't that your boyfriend's car?"

"Yes," she sighed, "He must be taking his friend's brother school shopping also."

She parked the car and walked into Staples, we walked to the school supply section and started looking for the things I needed. We must've been there for at least two hours, but then as we were trying to find the most ridiculous folder we heard shouting and people screaming. We turned towards the door and saw a group of three people with masks and guns. They started shouting stuff at the people, but it all became muffled as I made eye contact with one of the people, a male.

"Hey, you!" He shouted, pointing his gun at me, "Get on the ground with the others."

I couldn't think, I couldn't move. I was terrified. He started shouting again, but I couldn't hear him, it was all muffled. My breathing quickened as he started walking towards me, I could hear Lily shouting my name in the distance, it sounded so far away. As the guy was a few feet away he lifted his gun, I saw his lips moving but couldn't hear anything. I heard a loud bang, I closed my eyes but I didn't feel anything. I opened my eyes and I saw my sister standing in front of me, facing me. She had a pained smile on her face, I saw blood come from her lips as she crumbled to the floor, blood spilling around her. I fell to my knees beside her, holding her in my arms, not caring about the blood getting on me. She looked up at me, her eyes seemed so dazed and blank. She let out a shaky breath as she tried to tell me something, I leaned closer so I could hear her, "Jay, I love you and mom and dad so much. Please tell them, tell Travis I love him. Tell him I wanted to get married to him, to live happily together."

I nodded my head as I felt tears pool from my eyes, she brought a shaky hand to my face and wiped them away only to be replaced by more tears. "Jay, I know I'm going to die. I know that, but I want you to sing to me. Please, one last time."

I drew a shaky breath, "You are my sunshine, my one and only sunshine.

You make me happy when skies are gray.

You'll never know dear, how much I love you.

So never take my sunshine away."

By the time I finished, Lily had stopped breathing. Stopped moving, but she didn't stop smiling. I let out a scream as I held my dead sister in my arms. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw one of the masked people turn towards me and their eyes widened. They rushed over, they took their mask off to reveal Travis, my sister's boyfriend. He rushed over to Lily, he quickly took a hold of her and inspected her face while moving her hair out of her face. He cradled her in his arms as he cried, whispering into her ear knowing that she wouldn't hear what he was saying. He then turned to me, I quickly tried to grab my sister away from one of her killer's friends.

"Give her back! You took her away from me! Give her back!" I screamed, desperate to see my sister look at me and smile, telling me everything was gonna be okay. Travis slowly pulled away from her, he looked at her face sadly before slowly handing her back to me. After about five minutes, the cops came and took Travis and his associates away.

Flashback Over

"It's his fault, he killed my sister," I said, trying to hold tears back as I glared at Travis, who had lowered his gun and loosened his grip on the patient. The patient noticed this as well and took their opportunity and ran away, I saw Travis start to lift his gun but quickly ran towards him and tackled him to the ground.

"Jordan!" Alex screamed as he rushed to help me.

"She loved you! She wanted to get married and live happily with you, but what do you do?! You get her killed! You're a monster!" I screamed at Travis as tears pooled down my face, "She could've been here with me! She would've stopped the abuse! She would've stopped the bullying! She would still be loving me! She would've stopped the depression and the suicidal thoughts! But because of you, I have to suffer alone!"

I paused for a second, catching my breath. I inhaled shakily, "You took away the one person that loved me."

It was quiet for a few moments before Travis spoke, "I lost the only person I loved, I'm all alone now. I have no one, my parents don't care about me. They think I'm a disappointment, a mistake. My brother is loved by everyone he meets only because he's a successful businessman with money. He probably only knows me as the mistake that he shouldn't be. I'm alone too."

Hey guys....so umm, I'm sorry I haven't updated in a while but I've been busy with school and mountain biking. Also with family stuff and my sister's medical stuff, I'm sorry. I know I said that I would try and update more often, but right now my life is kind of a mess and my mental health isn't much better. I've been having some depressing thoughts, I've been hearing a negative voice in my head, telling me I'm worthless, ugly, selfish, replaceable. I know that you guys will probably skip over this part so yeah...Just trying to say sorry for not updating!
