Valerie's pov:
As the sun rose higher and higher and the sunlight kissed the world, I stood there waiting for Tim to return. Tim was the most beautiful phoenix that has ever existed. A sweet loud voice was the cue to get moving. As i started running, I felt a shadow above me and i increased my speed. Tim and i reached the castle together where he scooped down and sat on my shoulder nudging my head with his . "You are five minutes early" a grave voice spoke.Looking up I found The Oracle Archibald standing on the balcony of the castle. Even before i could form the word Happiness in my brain it was cut short by, "But you could have come faster!" - wow! "Yes Arch" i muttered and walked to my tower. I let Tim fly and walk through the long flight of stairs. the pros of living in a castle are It looks Royal and It looks Royal . Trust me that's all. Now if i start listing the cons , it might never end. Let this be number one. Even if its been years i am climbing this stairs yet i always get tired as soon as i reach my room. I made silently to the bed and flopped myself.
I don't know when I dozed off but I was awakened by sweet smell of waffles. I opened my eyes to find Mama Jenny setting up a rather big breakfast for me. "Mama Jenny!" I shouted and hugged her. She was the most jolly woman you could ever meet and the best chef in the world! Also she was exactly opposites of Archibald. Yes they were mates. In case you want to know more about Archibald I'll tell you some other day. Right now I was too focused on the plate which was loaded with generous amount of food and waiting to be devoured.
As I ate Mama Jenny opened the big windows and took gave away my laundry to some maid. Then she sat down beside me and asked, " Don't you think you are overworking yourself Val? ". " I have to Mama. At least that's my duty to train myself so much that no one can ever put me down ". I sighed, suddenly losing my appetite. "Don't over think yourself darling. I will ask Archie to give you some rest. " I smiled. Somehow the way she called her mate made my heart ache. If only my mate.. "I need your help to decorate the hall for the Halloween ball." Mama looked at me expectantly. "Of course " I smiled.
The Halloween ball, it was the most awaited party for all the wolves around. The Alphas and betas of all packs came to attend this ball. On this day many new Alphas were introduced and many met their mates. I cringed at the thought. I dreaded this event yet I had to help Mama Jenny. Sighing I plopped on the bed again trying to find peace in sleeping.
