Valerie's pov:

"Mate" the word seemed so much foreign to me. Before i could get the glimpse of the person whom Ivory claimed as Mate, Arch's booming voice sounded, "Enough! The Alpha of Pyra Pack, if you cannot shut your foul mouth I would request you to leave and henceforth you are banned from any further connection with the other packs of the werewolf community." I was shielded by Mamma Jenny so I couldn't see the Alpha's reaction but everyone could feel anger radiating from three very powerful werewolves. A guard entered and to everyone's relief announced dinner. I had so many questions and couldn't put my thoughts straight.

Suddenly the smell of pinewood hit my nostrils hard and Ivory howled. I peeked from mamma Jenny's shoulder to meet the brown eyes. My breath hitched, Was this feeling normal? My heart thundered inside my chest. The eyes held warm emotions making me feel happy, homely and so many other emotions that I had never experienced before. The man strode towards Arch and then bowed respectfully. "Oracle!" he said. Arch nodded and said, "Xander, Alpha of Nero pack". Nero pack! The biggest rival of Pyra pack! "Xander, what a handsome name!" whispered Ivory. as if he had heard her, his eyes met mine. Again with his powerful steps he reached in front of Mamma Jenny and bowed. Mamma nodded, but to her surprise and mine too , he came and directly stood in front of me. "Mate" he said with his rich warm grave voice, which was enough to bring in more drama.

"I am not going anywhere Ivory" i said stroking the head of Tim. Tim was nestled nicely on my lap and enjoying the way I pampered him. As soon as the great big Alpha said mate I couldn't stand there to see the reaction of Mamma Jenny and Arch. I ran as fast as my legs could carry and here I was sitting in my bedroom with a whining wolf inside me. "I am scared Ivy, what if he rejects me? I have already borne one rejection, how can I suffer another??" my eyes welled up with tears. Tim looked up at me and nuzzled his beak near my neck. A knock broke my thoughts and the door opened as Mamma Jenny peeked her head inside. "Darling there is someone to meet you ", she said. Entered in his glory the big Alpha whom i had been avoiding. "I'll be downstairs if you need anything" she smiled and walked away. Tim got up and flew to scrutinize the new intruder. After flying thrice around the Alpha he settled on his shoulder. Wait! He never did that! "At least there is someone in this room who likes me " he said with a smirk. I was too shocked to reply , and my cheeks were burning with embarrassment. "May I" he asked or rather said and flopped himself on the bed. Tim flew away and sat on the window sill.

"Are you going to stand there and ignore this glorious handsome hunk lying on your bed?" he said with another smirk and a playful tone. Ivory was howling with excitement. "I am not interested in Men who throw themselves readily at me" i said quietly. The next moment i was facing him eye to eye. Damn he was fast. "You are my mate" he said emphasizing every word. "Nice piece of information" I said and took steps back to create a comfortable distance. Annoyed he ruffled his hair. "He looks even more sexy" Ivory said. I stopped my urge to roll my eyes. "Alpha , if you don't have anything important to do please excuse me. I have many more important matters to attend to" I said patiently. "What kind of work do you have apart from looking good all day and trying to act smart which you aren't?" he said in a bored voice. Wait did he just make a racist comment! That son of a ... "My lady, The Oracle wishes to meet you and Alpha in his office now" a guard came in and announced. I nodded at him and without giving the jerk of a mate any glance, walked to the office.

"So you are her mate?" asked Arch. His face remained passive. Clearly he was reading whatever the Nero pack's Alpha was thinking. No, I had not yet accepted him as my mate even though Ivory kept whining. I had not realised I had zoned out until I heard my name being called. "Val , you need to pack your stuffs and move tomorrow with him". Wait? What? Move? "Arch?" I was so surprised that I couldn't even form a sentence. "I must get going Oracle, I have to make arrangements to take my mate home" and with that Xander left. "Are you really allowing him to take me?" I said as tears choked my throat. "Don't you want to go Val? It isn't my choice really. You are mated to a very strong Alpha which means you have your Luna duties to fulfill." He said with his voice passive and no emotion. "But .. You announced that I was your daughter. Why Arch?" I asked as tears fell down from my eyes. "There is a reason for everything Val, but right now you need to follow your mate and make his pack your home." "Will I never come back?" I asked standing, my voice quavering. "May Moon Goddess be with you" he said, and with that I ran back to my room as fast as I could. "Arch trusted him so blindly Tim? How could he?" I cried. Poor Tim could only nuzzle his head near mine and stay close as I spent the last night at the palace.
