Valerie's pov:

The sunlight hit my eyes and I was about to turn the other side to sleep when the thought of leaving the palace suddenly brought me back to reality. I , Valerie Sanders, was leaving this place again? That too with someone whom I had just met yesterday? "Things will be fine" said Ivory. As if her return too is soothing me. I had not transformed last two years, and no wonder it would take a huge lot of time for me to get accustomed to it. Only Moon Goddess knows what will happen to me in an unknown place. 

The door creaked open and Mamma Jenny entered. Her eyes were swollen yet she tried putting on her charming happy smile. "It's time to get ready dearie" she said. "So soon?" I murmured and got up to prepare for a very long day.

After five hours we were ready to set forth to a journey that I was dreading to even start. Xander placed the last of my bag inside the car and looked at me. Arch nodded his head and Xander opened the passenger seat to let me in. "Take care of her. She had to suffer a lot." said Mamma Jenny is hushed voice. Xander nodded and took the driving seat. The engine roared and within a few seconds we were off the compound.    

I had promised myself that I would not cry. Not today, not under any circumstance that I would be facing from this day onwards. Tim was accompanying us, flying high above our car. "Uhmm so let's not make things awkward and play a game" said Xander breaking the silence. I held back my urge to roll my eyes and simply nodded. "21 questions" we both said at the same time. "Wow! Jinx! Nice." he said with a smirk. I turned my head towards the window to hide my growing smile. Great now what exactly was happening to me. "Do you prefer pineapple over pizza?" . Wait what? That was an uncommon question. "Not actually. I am not a great fan of Pineapple" I replied. "I am allergic to pineapple" he said. "Do you prefer chinese or Italian?" I asked. He pondered for a while and replied, "depends on my mood". Emotional eater. 

Maybe we had crossed 21 questions but I managed to know a lot about him. He has an obsession with the color blue, he hates garlic, he has done his schooling from the same high school that I graduated from but was 3 years senior to me. No doubt I had never seen him around. He is not a morning person and loves his coffee black. Also I learned his wolf's name is Ryan. Ivy had been howling in my mind since then. We pulled on a driveway. There was a small farm house and an old man was lighting the bulbs. It was already evening and we had crossed three territories already. I was surprised to see Xander pull in front the house and get down. I got down too. Damn my muscles were aching like hell. The old man came hurriedly towards Xander and they both looked as if they were mind linking. I coughed to get attention. The old man looked at me and bowed. Ok I was not used to this. Xander nodded and ushered me inside the house. The house looked clean and cozy. "You can use the washroom. This is the pack border house. The forest behind this is my territory. But the other road leads to human territory. In order to keep them at check guards are placed in this house. I nodded. Sounds like a good security plan. I walked towards the bedroom which had a bathroom attached. I washed my face and did my business. I opened my tied hair and let it hang low. My head was already aching. 

When I walked out of the bedroom I saw two men standing and talking to Xander. Looking at me they came forward and bowed. Again, its weird! I looked at Xander for help who simply nodded his head. "Hello I am Philip, beta of Nero pack" said the guy with blonde hair. The other guy introduced himself as Jose, gamma of Nero pack. I nodded. "We must reach the pack house. Luna Marie is really excited to receive you both" said Philip. I visibly gulped. I was about to meet the parents of my mate. We got out from the back door and started walking towards the dense forest. Xander was walking beside me while Philip and Josh carried my belongings and walked in front of us. My senses heightened as we entered the dark and deep section of the forest. Usually I was trained to hear, see and smell without any werewolf abilities but with Ivy returning it felt uncomfortable with my werewolf powers returned. We walked for a long time and all I could hear the  different sounds of the forest. Suddenly I heard the sound of water dripping. As we walked further the sound increased. Soon we were standing in front of large waterfall. 

"Welcome to Nero Pack" Xander said and helped me to get up the rocky path which I quietly obliged. The Waterfall was just a barrier. There was a hidden cave behind it. Two werewolves were guarding the entrance and bowed on seeing Xander. As we walked further a whole town came into view. We walked towards the first big house. I could hear loads of chattering and shouts. It reminded me of Mamma Jenny in her kitchen. Alright I was homesick already. We entered the house and I could smell a huge amount of delicacies. Suddenly the chattering stopped. Sounds of footsteps were heard and a beautiful woman emerged. She looked at Xander who had a scowl on his face and pulled him for a hug. She then turned towards me and before i could introduce myself I was also pulled in for a hug. Oddly enough the hug felt comfortable and I hugged her back. She pulled away and smiled. I smiled back. "Oh honey you both must be so hungry! Come I will set dinner for you both" as she pulled me with her. The room had a big table where there were many women and men sitting. Small kids were playing nearby and many were teenagers were sitting and gossiping in the sofas kept nearby. On seeing Xander enter the men quickly vacated their seats bowed and ushered their wives and kids away. Why did everyone avoid Xander so much.

"Call me Marie" she said. No Luna for me? Strange. Xander took a seat beside me. Soon we were served with hot soup and homemade bread sticks. I couldn't stop myself and dug into the food. Damn it was delicious! "Did you like the food honey" she asked. "It's delicious.. Marie". She beamed. Soon we were served with a dish of chicken, baked potatoes and herbs. I was getting a feeling that this place is going to be my favourite while I stay here. We were being served chocolate mousse when sound of someone shouting and a shrill voice was heard. Soon the owner of the voice was walking towards us. A lady - wait a replica of Victoria's secret model directly from magazine had landed in front of us. "Xander!! Baby you are home!!" she shouted and came and hugged Xander, who was visibly uncomfortable. Luna Marie had an expression of horror as she exclaimed "Who in the name of Moon Goddess called you here!" . She gave her sickly sweet smile and replied, "Oh darling that title will soon be mine and I shall not be answerable to you anymore." Xander growled as Philip who was standing in the doorway gasped. Before Xander could explode , she looked at me and said "Xander who is this rouge and what is she doing sitting beside you?" I smiled back and replied, "Tasting the delicacies made by Luna Marie. Want to join?" "Oh I am going to be the Luna soon and I swear I will kick your asses out of the house you petty peasant" and with that she picked up the glass of water and threw it at me. Out of my instincts I was fast enough to move away from the chair. Before she could react I dumped my chocolate mousse on her. Oh dear delicious mousse! Her scream broke the eardrums and made a banshee sound melodious as she ran away. 

I shrugged as Xander, Marie and Philip looked at me in shock. "I am feeling tired Marie, would you please show me where am I supposed to sleep?" I asked. She nodded. I turned towards Xander and said, "Congratulations to your engagement though" and walked away leaving a shocked and scowling Xander behind.
