She sits on her bedroom floor, typing away at a message to her friend on her phone. She sets it aside, after replying about going to the small ice cream shop a mile from her house after school tomorrow. She taps the top of her pen to the corner of her lips, trying to focus back on the mathematic enigma before her. Her phone vibrates, breaking her fragile attention for the umpteenth time. However, checking the screen, it is not her friend but her boyfriend. "I don't know how to say this, but I can't handle this relationship anymore," the text reads. Her face falls; her heart drops; her life tumbles down around her. She asks why, and he explains he has other things to focus on. She lets out a cry, throwing her fist in her mouth. "Can we just take a break?" he offers, but she declines, standing her ground. She states that he can have her or leave her; he takes the second option. She rolls onto her back, staring up at her ceiling in pure lament. Tears slip out, and she bites her fist to prevent from making noise. She doesn't want her family to know she is hurt. She doesn't want anyone to help her. She just wants to forget him. The only way she can think to do so is by pulling out her phone and opening the YouTube app. She taps the first video ever posted by her favorite band, faintly smiling against her heart's will.

"Eighty-one more days," she exhales, trying to relax her over-worked brain and heavy heart.
