Chapter 3

Cami's POV

After lunch was over, I kept my promise to Kc but letting Storm out to play with him. Storm enjoys her time with Kc mostly because he's still young. Kc is only 6 but he picks up on adult conversations very quickly, but the good thing is that he thinks before he speaks.

After tucking him into bed with his favorite blanket and stuffed tiger that I gave to him as a present when he was born and turning on his night light I begin to make my way out.

"Tia?" He asks as his eyes slowly begin to close.

"Si mi amor?"(yes my love) I ask kneeling down beside him and run my hand through his hair.

"Do you not come around as much as you to before because you don't love daddy anymore?"

He asks in a small voice as he looks up at me.

"No babe. That's not why." Running my fingers through his hair in a soothing manner.

"Of course I love your father and I love you. I just don't come around as much as before because I work. But that doesn't mean that I can't make time for you. My doors are always open for you mi pequeño."(my little one)

I look down at him cupping his cheek with my hand as I wipe his tears away my thumb then kiss  the top of his head. I lay down beside him for a moment and hold him close.

"I promise I will try to come around more often and we can do whatever you want okay?"

He nodded against me as then he wraps his tiny arms around my neck.

"Promise?" He asked as his heart beat slows down a bit as I gently rub his tiny back.

"Te prometo mi amor, puedes contar conmigo porque no voy a ir a ningún lado." (I promise you my love you can count on me because I am not going anywhere)

Kissing the top of his head again and gently turning on to his side so he can sleep better I rub his back. "Come on go to sleep it's been a long day." He nods and slowly starts to fall asleep as I sing him a lullaby.

Kc is out like a light in seconds as his gentle snores fill the room. Getting up to my feet carefully trying not to wake him in anyway and tucked him in. Kc sleeps peacefully and pulls his stuffed tiger closer to his tiny body. My heart swells up with joy and I lean over to give a gentle kiss on the side of his head before walking out of his room to head towards to the living room. I bump into one of my one best friends and beta to the pack Mercedes.

She is in the hallway with her arms crossed as she looks at me. Mercedes is a beautiful whiteish tan girl with black curly hair that reaches her shoulders. With the height of 5'7 she also has beautiful curvy body.

"Why do you do that? I know that you hate lying to him."

She says with a frown on her face as her warm blue eyes stare at me with a raised brow. Shaking my head at her I look back towards Kc's bedroom door then back to her.

"He doesn't need to know that part of his fathers life or mine. Kc will make his own mistakes when he's older. Besides you and I both know that I don't trust his dad the same way that I use to. So please just drop it."

I say walking down the hallway and head towards the living room to sit on the couch. Once my back touches the cushion I pull my legs up to my chest.

"I know that. But Cami come on there be something that he can do. You can't hate him forever. Derek's like your brother even though he's your third cousin or whatever. You know he loves you."

Mercedes says softly as she sits down beside me on the couch. I growl a bit under my breath then sigh softly.

"You're right. I can't hate him forever. Yes he's like a brother to me and I love him for that." I say hugging a pillow close to my chest.

"But you just don't trust him the same way that you use to. Why?" She says looking at me.

I feel Storm growling in my head.

"Does she really need to ask that?" Storms growls angrily. 

"Creyó un estúpido rumor sobre mí. Alguien en la manada había dicho que lo lastimaría de cualquier manera que pudiera." (He believed a stupid rumor about about me. Someone in the pack had said that I would hurt him in any way I can.)

I looked at Mercedes from the corner of my eye. I can tell that she was holding back a growl.

"What was the rumor about?" She asks taking a deep breath.

"People were saying that Derek and I hooked up which is not true at all." I feel Storm growling at the thought of that.

"Por supuesto, él de todas las personas creerá eso porque es un idiota por pensar que lo lastimaríamos así." (Of course he of all people will believe that because he is an idiot for thinking that we would hurt him like that) Storms growls again as she tries to come forward but I hold her back.

Looking at Mercedes from the corner of my eye I knew she was listening but doesn't say anything. Turning my attention to the fireplace I take a deep breath to try to calm Storm down.

"So that's why you lie K. You don't want to push him away like you did with Derek." She says glancing over at me while I nodded.

"Pretty much yea. In way he did it to himself thoguh." I say to her before turning my attention back to the fire.

"True but you know that he doesn't mean it. Sure Derek is an idiot for believing that you would hurt him like that." She says as wraps her arms around me. Storm growls again at the thought. Like me she had never let that rumor go and still to this day it still bothers us that Derek would think that of us.

"Camilla you don't have in you to hurt anyone. Yes I will give it to you that you will fight for the people that you love." Looking at her from the corner of my eye again I waited for her to continue.

"I've known for a long time. Remember we met in middle school and we grew up together from there. You're my sister and one of the many things that I know for a fact is that you would NEVER hurt anyone. You don't have it in you, and you want to know why? Because you wear your heart on your sleeve. It doesn't make a bad person at all." She says rubbing my shoulders in a comforting manner.

"But at the same time I do think that you and Derek will come back to each other again. After all your family and you two have been through a lot together,and knowing Derek he'll come around. He loves you no matter what happens." She says rubbing my shoulders again.

I nodded and place my hands on top of her arms.

"Thanks for trying Mercy." I say watching the red,orange and yellow colors dancing along the wood.

"Anytime." Mercy lays her head on top of mine for a moment before she pulls back. I get to my feet and stretch then look at her.

"I'll be back tomorrow. It's getting late and I have to get home anyways. Do you think you can watch him until Rosa comes by?" I asked hopeful then smiled as she nodded.

"Sure you don't mind watching him." She laughs softly.

Walking around the couch I head to the door to walk home. I open the door then step outside and shit it behind me. Turning my back and making my way down the steps of the porch I bumped into a wall. Growling under my breath I backed away from the wall only to realize that it wasn't a wall at, it was very sexy muscular chest.  

Glancing up towards the owner of the chest I take a sharp intake of breath as I stare up at Aiden's  beautiful black eyes.

"Hi." He says with a smile that made my heart stop.

Do you really think Cami will ever be able to trust Derek again?

Is Mercedes right about them coming back to each other as friends?

What is Aiden doing out at this hour?

Will Cami and Aiden finally get the chance to talk?
