OCEAN EYES. CH.1

"Go get the ball, Blaine!" Sam yelled as their volleyball rolled away. It was the middle of July and Blaine, Sam, and Ryder had been relaxing in the lake and playing volleyball all afternoon.
"You guys suck." Blaine yelled in return, running through the sand. He looked up as the ball hit someone's beach chair, laughing softly. "Sorry, my friends don't know how to throw-" He cut himself off as he made eye contact with the boy in the chair. "Woah."
He boy frowned. "Is something wrong?" He asked softly.
Blaine shook his head quickly. "No, no. Nothing's wrong, it's just- you have the most gorgeous eyes." He smiled softly. "They look like the ocean."
The boy immediately blushed darkly, a small smile spreading across his face. "Thank you." He breathed. He could hardly believe someone this handsome would even bother talking to him- much less compliment him.
Blaine smiled. "Are you here by yourself?" He asked. "My friends and I are almost done with this game- I could come and keep you company once I'm done."
The boy nodded slowly. "Sure." He said, biting his lip over a smile.
Blaine smiled widely, his wet curls hanging down over his forehead. "I'll be back in a few, ocean eyes." He grinned, picking up the ball before running back over to his friends, continuing his game. Once the game was finally finished, he grabbed his towel and walked back over to the boys' chair. "Hey." He smiled, laying his towel down before sitting on top of it in the sand.
The boy looked over to Blaine as he sat down, smiling softly. "Hi." He breathed, biting his lip. "My name's Kurt."
Blaine nodded. "I'm Blaine." He said, running a hand through his wet curls. "Do you live around here?"
Kurt nodded. "Yeah, I live up the street a couple blocks. I walk here on sunny days- I'm attempting to get a tan, but, it's not really working." He laughed softly.
Blaine nodded. "I think you look great." He smiled, looking up into Kurt's eyes. "I'm just staying with my grandparents for the summer, they don't live too far from here either."
Kurt blushed at the compliment, smiling softly. "You seem to have made quite a few friends from only being here for the summer." He said, looking over at Sam and Ryder across the beach.
Blaine shrugged. "Yeah, I've been visiting every summer since I was eight, so we've become pretty good friends." He smiled. "Listen, I'd really love to talk more, but I feel sorta sweaty and gross from being in the water and playing volleyball all day." He laughed softly. "Would it be okay if I go get cleaned up, and, um- maybe pick you up for dinner tonight?"
Kurt bit his lip, nodding slowly. "Yeah, I- um, I would love that." He said, unable to keep a smile off of his face.
Blaine grinned. "It's a date, then." He said, standing up and grabbing a piece of paper from his bag, scribbling down his number. "Just text me your address, okay? I can pick you up around eight."
Kurt's heart was racing at the mention of the word 'date,' he had never even been on a real date before. And now he was going to dinner with an incredibly handsome, curly haired, hazel eyed boy who looked like he had the potential to ruin his life. "Sounds good." He said, trying to keep his cheeks from turning red. "I'll see you tonight."
Blaine nodded. "See you tonight, ocean eyes." He smiled, waving as he walked away towards the parking lot.
So much was running through Kurt's mind- but the most prominent thought was; 'what the hell am I going to wear?'
