OCEAN EYES CH.9

"Go talk to him!" Rachel laughed loudly, taking another sip of her cocktail. "It's been over a year since you got laid, go and talk to him."
Kurt rolled his eyes, shaking his head. "I can't just go talk to random guys in bars, Rachel. That is so trashy."
Rachel rolled her eyes in return. "We're in New York! We're starting college in a week, and you said you want to take all the risks you can, so go and ask for that guy's number." She grinned.
Kurt bit his lip. "Fine." He breathed, standing up and walking up to the man sitting across the bar. He returned a few minutes later with a slip of paper in his hand, looking down at Rachel. "There. I got it." He said, blushing softly.
Rachel laughed. "Good! Now you can get laid." She teased, standing up and holding onto Kurt in order to keep herself from falling over.
Kurt laughed softly, helping Rachel out of the bar and walking towards their apartment. "I don't think I'm gonna be getting laid anytime soon." He said, helping Rachel up the stairs and into their loft. He sat down on the couch with her, looking into her eyes. "I haven't even kissed anybody since Blaine. I don't know if I'm ready to jump into some random guy's bed."
Rachel sighed. "You and Blaine broke up a year ago, Kurt." She said softly. "We moved to New York for college, but also to get a new start."
Kurt sighed and nodded. "I know, I know." He said quietly. "I'm gonna head to bed." He got up and walked to his room, laying down and staring at the wall. He had spent his senior year of high school keeping to himself and pushing Blaine out of his mind the best he could. He easily got into his dream school, and he was so happy to be in his dream city- but it just felt like something was missing. He wanted a perfect love story.

The next morning, Kurt woke up to a text on his screen.
'You in NY? -B'
Kurt's heart was beating out of his chest as he looked at the screen, taking a deep breath before responding.
'Yeah, I am. Are you? -K'
Another text came through almost immediately.
'Yeah. Can we meet for coffee in an hour? The place on 5th? -B'
Kurt bit his lip over a grin as he looked down at his screen. His hands were shaky from how fast his heart was beating, and he quickly responded.
'See you then. -K'
He sent the text before practically hopping out of bed, walking over to his closet. "What the hell do I wear to a coffee date with my ex?" He breathed to himself. He eventually settled on a pair of tight black jeans, along with a cream colored sweater to match. He went in the bathroom and fixed his hair, letting out a deep breath. He had no idea what Blaine wanted- he didn't even know that he was living in New York as well. They hadn't spoken since they broke up. But he didn't want to get his hopes up, he knew that a lot could change in a year.
He looked at the clock before grabbing his wallet and walking out the door, being careful not to wake Rachel up. He walked to the coffee shop down the block from his apartment, sitting down at a table in the corner and staring at the door as he waited for Blaine.
He was tapping his foot nervously until he finally saw the curly haired boy walk in, unable to keep the smile off of his face. "Hi." He said softly, standing up.
Blaine smiled widely as he saw Kurt, walking over to the table and wrapping him in a gentle hug. "Hey." He whispered, letting himself breath in Kurt's scent. "It's so good to see you."
Kurt wrapped his arms around Blaine in return, smiling against him. "It's good to see you too." He breathed, pulling away softly and sitting down. He looked across the table at Blaine, his eyes roaming over his face. He looked a little older, sure, but he was still the handsome boy that he met over a year ago at the beach. "How did you know I was in New York?" He asked softly.
Blaine sat down across from Kurt, looking into his eyes. "I've kept in contact with Sam, and he said that he heard you were moving here for college." He said. "Plus New York was all you talked about when we were together." He teased, smiling at Kurt across the table.
Kurt rolled his eyes playfully. "I talked about other stuff." He laughed softly, looking into Blaine's eyes. "So, um- is there a reason you wanted to meet up?"
Blaine nodded slowly as Kurt spoke, taking a deep breath. "I guess mainly it was to apologize." He said softly. "It was so stupid of me to hook up with someone right after we had broken up. I thought it would make me feel better, but it only made me feel worse. It made me miss you even more when I was touching someone else- because I didn't want someone else. I wanted you." He said, gazing into Kurt's blue eyes. "I know that you're the one who broke up with me and I was technically single, but I still shouldn't have done that. And I know that if I saw you with someone else so soon, I would have been upset too. So I'm sorry."
Kurt listened as Blaine spoke, looking into his eyes and nodding. "It's okay." He said softly, gently taking Blaine's hand across the table. "I forgave you a long time ago." He said with a gentle smile, squeezing his hand. "And I'm sorry too. I'm sorry that I broke up with you just because of distance. I was scared- I was scared of not seeing you everyday and I was scared you would find someone else if I wasn't around. But I wish that I could have just pushed through my fear and stayed with you."
Blaine held onto Kurt's hand tightly, letting out a deep breath. "I forgave you a long time ago, too. I know you were only trying to do what was best for us." He said softly, squeezing his hand.
Kurt smiled, his thumb running over the knuckles of Blaine's hand. "I missed you." He whispered softly. "I think about you all the time."
Blaine bit his lip, smiling softly. "Good, because I thought I was a crazy person for still thinking about my ex after a year." He laughed. "I, um- I just got moved into my apartment, I'd love for you to come and see it sometime." He said, looking up into Kurt's eyes. "Are you free for the rest of the day?"
Kurt nodded as Blaine spoke, a small smile coming to his lips. "No, I'm free." He said softly. "I'd love to see your apartment."
Blaine nodded, standing up and tossing his coffee cup in the garbage before taking Kurt's hand again. "Let's go, then." He smiled, squeezing his hand as they walked outside. He looked over at Kurt, gently tugging him closer and putting an arm around him as they walked. "I just live a few blocks down. Where's your place?" He asked.
Kurt blushed as Blaine put an arm around him, leaning against him as they walked. "My place is a few blocks up." He laughed softly, looking over at Blaine. "What school are you going to?"
Blaine looked over at Kurt, nodding as he spoke. "I'm going to NYU." He said softly. "I'm assuming you're going to NYADA?"
Kurt nodded. "Yeah." He said softly. "I'm living in a loft with Rachel- she's going there too."
Blaine smiled softly, walking into his apartment building and running his hand up and down Kurt's side as they got into the elevator. "I always knew you'd get in. You doubted yourself, but I knew they wouldn't turn down pure talent." He said softly, walking to his apartment and unlocking the door.
Kurt rolled his eyes playfully as Blaine spoke, shaking his head. "You act like I'm Michael Jackson or something." He said, looking around as they walked into Blaine's apartment. It was small, and there were still boxes all over from moving, but it felt like a home. "I like it." He said, smiling over at Blaine.
Blaine smiled at Kurt in return, taking his jacket off and hanging it on the hook. "Yeah?" He asked softly. "I haven't had too much time to decorate it yet, but I think it's a nice little space. Maybe you can help me decorate."
Kurt nodded, looking over at Blaine. "I would love to." He said, biting his lip over a smile. "So, have you- um, have you been seeing anybody since we last saw each other? I mean, besides that Sebastian guy."
Blaine shook his head, sitting down on his couch and gently tugging Kurt down beside him. "No. The last day you saw Sebastian was the last day that I saw him too. I asked him to leave after you left." He said softly. "And I've been on a few dates, but nothing has ever went past a kiss."
Kurt took a deep breath, sitting beside Blaine and looking up into his eyes. "Did you have sex with Sebastian?" He asked quietly, his eyes roaming over Blaine's body as he scooted closer.
Blaine shook his head quickly. "No. We just, um- we used our hands." He said softly. "I never even sucked him off, I told him I wanted to take things slow and that was the farthest we got." He took Kurt's hand, squeezing it gently. "I wasn't ready to be with anybody else like that."
Kurt nodded, letting out a deep breath. He wished that Blaine and Sebastian hadn't done anything, but it was a relief that they had only gone that far. "Okay." He said softly, squeezing Blaine's hand in return. "I haven't been seeing anybody either. Just a couple dates. Nothing serious, though."
Blaine nodded, reaching a hand up to run it through Kurt's hair. "Can you hang out for a while?" He asked softly. "I feel like we have so much to catch up on."
Kurt nodded, leaning into Blaine's touch. "I'd love to." He whispered. "So, did you ever come out to your parents?"
Blaine took a deep breath, smiling slightly. "We have a lot to talk about." He laughed softly.
