OCEAN EYES. CH. 7
The next morning, Blaine opened his eyes slowly, yawning softly. "Mm.." He mumbled as he cuddled closer to Kurt, burying his head against his boyfriend's neck. He glanced up at the clock, confirming that Kurt's parents were gone, before standing up slowly. He replaced himself with a pillow in Kurt's arms, tugging on his boxers before walking downstairs.
He hummed softly as he dug through the cabinets and found pancake mix, listening to music on his phone as he made breakfast. He decorated the plates with some powdered sugar and strawberries, grinning widely as he walked up to Kurt's room. He sat down in bed, gently setting the tray down and wrapping his arms around his boyfriend. "Wake up, love." He whispered, kissing at his neck and sliding his hands over Kurt's sides.
Kurt groaned as he felt Blaine's lips against his neck, a smile spreading over his lips. "Too early." He mumbled, yawning softly. "Just cuddle me a little longer."
Blaine rolled his eyes playfully, pressing a soft kiss to Kurt's forehead. "I made you breakfast." He said, sliding a hand through Kurt's hair. "Come on, we can cuddle some more after you eat." He smiled softly, sitting up and setting the tray over their laps.
Kurt sat up slowly, looking over into Blaine's eyes. "You didn't have to make me breakfast." He said, biting his lip over a smile. "It looks amazing." He laughed breathlessly, leaning in and pressing a soft kiss to Blaine's lips.
Blaine smiled against Kurt's lips, nuzzling his nose. "I had to make it a perfect one month anniversary." He said softly, resting his head on Kurt's shoulder as they ate. He ran his free hand up and down Kurt's thigh, sighing happily. "I wish every morning were like this."
Kurt nodded, relaxing into Blaine's side as they ate. "I wish so too." He said, looking up into Blaine's eyes. "Maybe one day every morning can be like this."
Blaine nodded as Kurt spoke, smiling softly. "I hope so." He said, sliding a hand through Kurt's hair. "But for now we'll have to settle for sneaking in every once in a while." He laughed softly, pecking Kurt's lips.
Kurt nodded, sighing softly. He wished that they could spend every day together- he hated being away from Blaine. "Do you have any other plans for our anniversary?" He asked with a smile, sliding a hand up and down Blaine's arm.
Blaine nodded. "Well, I thought we could spend the day in bed together, and, you know... do stuff." He smiled slightly, squeezing Kurt's thigh. "And then tonight, there's this gay bar downtown- Scandals. Have you heard of it?"
Kurt bit his lip at the mention of 'stuff,' smiling widely. He nodded slowly as Blaine continued to speak, looking into his eyes. "Yeah, I've heard of it." He said. "Why?"
Blaine smiled. "Well, Sam has a friend who makes fake IDs, and I got us some." He grinned. "So I was thinking we could go. If you don't want to drink we don't have to, but they have a dance floor, and I thought it could be fun." He said softly, pressing a kiss to Kurt's lips.
Kurt kissed him back gently, taking a deep breath. He was sceptical about the bar- he knew that there would be tons of guys there probably checking Blaine out, and though he wouldn't admit it, he was a jealous person. But Blaine had taken the time to get them fake IDs, and he seemed so excited, so he went along with it. "That sounds fun." He said, smiling softly. "I can't wait."
Blaine grinned, setting the tray aside as they finished eating and wrapping his arms around Kurt. "I can't wait either, love." He said softly, tugging Kurt onto his lap. "But we have plenty of time to do stuff before we go." He breathed, leaning in and pressing a deep kiss to Kurt's lips, sighing happily.Later that night, Kurt was fixing his hair in the bathroom, taking a deep breath. He was nervous to go to a bar for the first time, but going with Blaine made him feel a lot better. He walked out of the bathroom and smiled softly at Blaine, walking up to him. "You ready?" He asked softly.
Blaine looked up as Kurt walked out of the bathroom, wrapping his arms around him. "Yeah, I'm ready." He said softly, pressing a gentle kiss to his cheek. "You look beautiful, love. Those guys are gonna be all over you." He teased, sliding his hands over Kurt's sides.
Kurt smiled, shaking his head. "I'm all yours." He said, pecking Blaine's lips before taking his hand and walking downstairs. They went outside and got into Blaine's car, driving towards the bar. "You think those IDs will really work?" Kurt asked softly, looking over at Blaine.
Blaine nodded, squeezing Kurt's hand. "Sam's been using them for a while now, it'll be fine. I promise." He said, parking the car before getting out, opening Kurt's door for him. "Like I said, if you don't want to drink, we don't have to. I just want to have a fun night with you." He smiled, handing Kurt his fake ID and pecking his cheek.
They walked up and got in with no problem, Blaine holding onto his boyfriend's hand tightly as they walked up to the bar. "You want a soda or something, gorgeous?" He asked, sitting down and resting a hand on Kurt's thigh.
Kurt sat down, looking around. There were already guys staring at Blaine, but he tried his best to ignore it. "Um- I think I'll try a martini." He said, looking up into Blaine's eyes. "I don't want to get drunk, but, tipsy dancing with my boyfriend might be fun." He laughed softly.
Blaine smiled and nodded. "Two strawberry martinis." He said, looking over at Kurt and sipping his drink. "Have you ever drank before?" He asked, sliding a hand up and down Kurt's thigh.
Kurt shook his head. "No, never even a sip." He laughed softly, shaking his head. "But I'm almost eighteen, and I've been very vanilla all through high school. So I might as well experience it for the first time with you." He said, looking up into Blaine's eyes.
Blaine smiled, nodding as Kurt spoke. "I don't think you're vanilla anymore." He teased, pressing a soft kiss to his boyfriend's lips. "You wanna go dance?" He asked, taking his hand.
Kurt nodded, standing up as he finished his drink. He followed Blaine to the dance floor and smiled as he felt his boyfriend's arms wrap around him. "I'm not really a dancer." He said, a soft blush covering his cheeks.
Blaine shrugged, pulling Kurt closer. "Me neither, just move with me." He smiled, his hands running up and down Kurt's sides as they swayed to the beat of the music. He looked around, relaxing against Kurt's body and sighing happily. "I love you." He whispered softly, resting his chin in the crook of Kurt's neck.
Kurt bit his lip over a smile, his arms around Blaine's waist. Even though they had said it before, whenever he heard those three words it made his heart flutter. "I love you too." He breathed.
They held each other close as they danced, Blaine pulling back after a little while and looking up into Kurt's eyes. "I have one more surprise." He said softly.
Kurt raised his eyebrows as Blaine spoke, smiling slightly. "You do?" He asked, his hands sliding up and down Blaine's back.
"Yeah. Come on." Blaine grinned, taking Kurt's hand and tugging him along as they walked out to his car. "There's this place I want to show you."
Kurt nodded, getting in the passenger seat and taking Blaine's hand as he began to drive. "You better not murder me on our anniversary. I've heard horror stories of people who go with their boyfriends when they say they want to 'show them something.'" He teased.
Blaine rolled his eyes, pressing a kiss to the back of Kurt's hand. "No, I think you're a keeper." He teased in return, parking his car before looking over at his boyfriend. "Can you wait here for a minute, love?" He asked, leaning in and pressing a gentle kiss to Kurt's cheek.
Kurt nodded, smiling softly. "Okay." He said, sighing happily against Blaine's lips. "Love you."
Blaine smiled. "Love you more." He breathed before getting out of the car, grabbing some things out of the trunk. He set the blanket down that he had brought, along with the picnic basket and lanterns. He bit his lip over a grin before walking back to the car, opening Kurt's door for him. "Right this way, gorgeous." He smiled softly, leading Kurt to where he had set up their moonlit picnic.
Kurt followed Blaine, bringing a hand to his mouth as he saw the setup. "Oh my gosh, Blaine." He breathed, wrapping him in a tight hug. "Chocolate covered strawberries, breakfast in bed, a night of dancing, and now this? I don't deserve you."
Blaine shook his head, sitting down and pulling Kurt close so that his back was against his chest. "I'm the one who doesn't deserve you." He breathed, holding him tightly. "I just wanted a perfect day for my perfect boyfriend."
Kurt sighed happily, relaxing into Blaine's arms and looking up at the stars as they ate. "I don't know how you're ever going to top this during future anniversaries." He laughed softly, looking up into Blaine's eyes.
Blaine smiled, sliding a hand through Kurt's hair. "I'll figure something out." He teased, taking a deep breath. "Speaking of our future, I think we should talk about something."
Kurt frowned. "What is it?" He asked, his fingers tracing over Blaine's arms.
Blaine took another deep breath. "I'm leaving in two weeks, back home to California." He said, looking down. "I think we need to talk about that."
Kurt swallowed thickly. He had pushed the thought of Blaine leaving out of his head- forced himself to forget about it until now. "I don't know what there is to say." He said quietly. "I mean, you know I don't want you to leave. And I don't really know what I'm going to do without you."
Blaine sighed. "I want to stay too." He said, playing with Kurt's fingers and pressing a soft kiss to the back of his neck. "But there's no way I can. I guess we're just gonna have to figure out how we wanna deal with this long distance thing."
Kurt bit his lip, shaking his head. "I don't know if I can do long distance, Blaine." He said, taking a deep breath. "It hurts so badly to say goodbye right now, when I know I'm seeing you the next day. I can't even imagine how it's going to feel saying goodbye to you at the airport, or on skype every night."
Blaine looked up into Kurt's eyes. "What other option do we have? It's either long distance, living off of skype and texts, or nothing." He said, sliding a hand through Kurt's hair. "I love you. I wanna work this out."
"I love you too, but I can't go my entire senior year without you here. Knowing that you're across the country, so far away and I can't kiss you or hug you when I'm sad is going to be so hard." Kurt breathed, blinking away tears that came to his eyes. "I don't know what to say. Maybe we should just- I don't know... let this be a summer fling."
Blaine's heart was sinking as Kurt spoke, tears coming to his eyes. "So you'd rather be without me completely than deal with distance?" He breathed shakily, pulling away slightly. "I-I know we can figure out a way to make this work, Kurt. I love you."
Kurt looked down, wiping at his eyes. "I'm sorry." He breathed. "I just- I can't. I'm sorry. The pain of being with you, and talking to you every day, but not being able to see you would be too hard."
Blaine stood up, throwing his things back into his picnic basket. "Fine." He breathed. "Last night we were sleeping in the same bed and talking about how much we loved each other, and you just were talking about future anniversaries, and now you're breaking up with me." He said, walking to his car and throwing his things in the trunk as tears began to roll down his cheeks.
Kurt stood up, following Blaine to his car. "Blaine- stop." He said, gently grabbing his boyfriend's hand and wrapping him in a tight hug. "I love you." He whispered, sniffling softly. "I just- I can't put the stress and pain of long distance on us."
Blaine cried against Kurt's shoulder, gripping onto him. "I love you." He whispered, his voice shaking as he tangled his hands in the fabric of Kurt's jacket, breathing in his scent. He took a deep breath before pulling back, looking into Kurt's eyes. "You may not have figured it out yet, but I have. You're my soulmate." He breathed, tears falling down his cheeks. "And we're gonna meet again someday, b-because that's what soulmates do. No matter if you break up with me- we're gonna find eachother again when it's the right time." He said, pulling away and taking a deep breath. "I know we are."
