Here's chapter 10, enjoy!

"I don't think you should be driving, Harley, " Guy laughed as I hobbled over to my little red car.

"Shhh, I'll be fine," I insisted.

"Godsake, where do you live?"

"Ah, it's only like 3 blocks away, let's walk!"

Charlie had disappeared (with the blonde girl, looking very satisfied) in his big black volvo. And I had invited Guy back to my apartment.

"Walking is probably a better idea," he laughed. It sounded like that feeling you get when you eat chocolate. That's how best to explain it.

We were almost back at mine when I realised I needed a new phone.

"Hold on, I'll be right back," I said, holding him in place so he wouldn't move.

"Harley..."

I dashed inside the little store on the corner which sold just about everything. I picked up the first black one I found and also grabbed blonde hair dye and strawberry bonbons. The man at the counter gave me a strange look but packed it all into a paper bag for me.

"Oh, put $20 on the phone too."

And then I jumped back outside. Guy put his arm around me.

"You know, for a doctor you sure are-"

"Fun?"

"Exactly."

I wasn't thinking about the Joker or Ivy or Arkham or the plan or the consequences or anything. I was completely in the present and that was all that mattered.

As we stumbled inside, both of is too intoxicated for our own good, I found my way through the dark to the phone. The red light blinked anxiously at me, telling me I had messages. I pressed the button.

"You have 3 new messages. Message 1, revived today at 9:32am."

"Harleen, honey, I'm sorry. I think you're doing a brilliant job at Arkham, not many people could do what you do. I'm sorry I didn't support you I just...I miss you Harley. Gimme a call back, would ya?"

"End of message. 2nd message received today at 12:47pm."

"Hello Harleen, it's Doctor Thompson here, Aimee Thompson from Gotham General. I just wanted to say good luck for today, I know they're bringing him back to Arkham. I think you're incredibly brave to be treating him. I'll see you on Thursday."

"End of message. 3rd message received today at 3:15pm."

"Doctor Quinzel, I hope you're pleased with your promotion. Doctor Crane just wasn't delivering what we needed from a team manager. And since you've shown your commitment to the Asylum, I think you deserve that place. I will be back as soon as possible, but I'll still be in here for another week, then they've told me not to go back to work. But hey, if you can handle it, so can I. See you soon."

"End of messages."

I laughed and collapsed onto the sofa, pulling out a few bonbons to eat.

"Seems like a lotta people care bout you, Harley, " Guy pointed out, standing over me.

"Heh, screw them and their sympathy."

I dropped the sweets, knelt up and grabbed his face, crashing my lips onto his. He tasted like lime and his lips were so soft. He groaned and lowered himself onto the sofa on top of me. I kicked off my trainers and he did the same. I began to undo the buttons on his dusty blue shirt. We kissed hungrily, as if we needed each other to survive.
