Chapter eight

“Angel are you sure about this? I thought towns were bad!” Kyle whines at his sister. “Well how else are we going to find the others. Their tracks were leading this way anyways, plus this place doesn’t look that bad.” Angel says, mumbling the last part to herself as she looks around. “What if it isn’t even them?” he turns to look at her and collides with a familiar person, or.. Two persons. “NICO!” Kyle screams and tackles his brother into a heap of tangled limbs in the sand. Nico laughs a bit. “Nice to see you to Kyle.” Nico says. Angel raises an eyebrow at Rouge who stands away from the group, head down. “What’s wrong Rouge?” Angel says to him. “I’m worried about Coral and my aunt.” he explains. “Oh.. I’m sure they're okay.” Angel says, hoping that helps. The taller boy just shrugs and steps forward, helping Nico up who blushes a dark red. “We should find Coral. Who knows where she is.” Angel says to the boys. “EASTWARD PEASANTS!” Kyle screams, jumping on Nicos back, “Onward my Trusty Steed!” he demands in a snooty voice. The people around them stare at them, not knowing of what to think of them. “We should just go…” Angel whispers. Rouge smirks, “jump on. It will be fun.” he says, crouching slightly for Angel to get on his back. Angel jumps on Rouges back carefully. Nico screams and tries to hit Kyle when the boy slapped his ass in attempt to make him run. Nico dumped Kyle in the sand, “nope!” he yells. “We need to get going…” Angels says to them. Rogue sets Angel down softly and grabs Nico’s hand, “so let’s go.” he starts pulling Nico east along the edge of the beach. Angel goes over to Kyle and helps him up, after the two try to catch up to the boys. Rouge frowns slightly, noticing how the sand underneath their bare feet was starting to turn to black and gray rocks and the tree line was getting closer to the water, soon they would be in the forest. Angel asks curiously, “How far did we walk? Is it going to be dark by the time we get there?” “Angel’s right. We need to find Coral and some shelter quickly. The sun is already past noon.” Rouge announces. Nico looks at the sky, “We have maybe a few hours before it gets dark. We could find a place to stay in town… or out here in the woods,” he says. “Dark?” Kyle asks, “uhm.. Do we have to be out after dark?”. “If we have to. We got to find Coral. Who knows what happens to her if we don’t.” Angel says to Kyle, exaggerating a bit. “Well whatever has happened wasn’t so good for her.” Angel turns to Rouge curiously, he had moved onto a lava rock spill, the black rock had blood on it in forms of footprints, “she was here.” Rouge further explains. Nico walks over to Rouge, looking ahead to find more prints leading into the woods accompanied by wet shoe prints, from someone wearing a suit perhaps? “This way!” Nico yells to the others as he follows the set of footprints leading into the woods, the others running quickly behind him. “Nico careful! It might be a trap!” Rouge yells too late, the snap of a rope is heard and the entire group gets a large net under their feet. Encased around them and in seconds the netted bag of ‘humans’ was hanging 30 feet off the ground.
