"Okay okay....no more, please... I can't try on anymore" I whine at Katie for making me try on the 287th dress.

So, me, Katie and Jordan are at the mall for the past 4 hours and Katie wouldn't come out of the shop until I find a dress for the party. I already have a beautiful dress and I'm set to go and rock that party.

Ehh...not so much.

I'm not a party person at all. I mean it's just a place with deafening remix music and teenagers drunk to the point where they can't tell the difference between a chicken and a dog. It's a cringe place with people playing ping ball and doesn't forget the inappropriate stuff that happens in teenage parties.

Katie Chucks another piece of cloth which is barely a cloth.

"Katie enough!! I have a very cute dress and you will absolutely love it. Come on let's leave this place." I sigh

She gives me 'the look'.

Oh no! Not the look, not the irresistible puppy dog eyes to which you can't say no.
I think I need a pair of shoes to go with my dress" I sigh.

Katie's face lights up immediately.

"Shoes? Did I just hear shoes? My Cinderella would you give me the honor to accompany you and buy you a pair of the best, shiny glass shoes?" Jordan says bowing to me and extending his arm.

"Oh no my handsome prince, I couldn't. I cannot interrupt your meeting with your loyal subjects at the pigsty" I say as formally as possible.

Burned baby!

I look at Katie for a second and we burst into uncontrollable fits of laughter and Jordan just stands there giving us an annoyed expression.

I wish I could say- wow! Is it me? I can't even recognize myself. I'm beautiful.

I put on my mascara and I am done, people. I have to leave in 15 minutes and now it's 7:45.

I am wearing a burgundy dress that reaches my knees. It's simple and cute hugging me in all the right places.

I slip on my black stilettos and check my self in the mirror to make sure that I don't look like a monkey with too much makeup and I am satisfied with what I look like before I head downstairs.

I grab my keys from the counter and I am just about to open the door when Dax decides to stop me.

" Where are you going Honey-bear??" he asks.

Dax is all ready to go somewhere. He is wearing a striped shirt with jeans. And as usual, he looks awesome.

"I'm going to a party with my friends

"I'm going to a party with my friends."I say tucking a stray hair behind my ear.

"Why are you going? With whom?" He shoots me questions and I am confused.

"I'm going with Katie and what do you mean by why? Can't I go to a party? I thought you wanted me to make friends and have some fun" I say, still confused.

He looks at me with pursed lips and scrunched eyebrows showing clear annoyance.

He goes away mumbling something which I couldn't hear and it was something like- she didn't listen.

I think for a moment that what happened that he was so annoyed when I leave the house and go towards my baby.

Katie said to meet her at the ice cream shop and as it is not so far and I still have time I decide to walk instead of getting on my bike.

Why did she call me here, it's not even that far from my house. She could have just picked me up from my house itself.

Maybe she's confused about my house number or something. And Dax behaved quite weirdly too. I know he is worried about me and thinks about my safety a lot but, this has never happened before.

Voice of reason- You haven't exactly gone to a party like this before, you have just gone for school functions and small dances.

That's true though. But, still, the scene earlier is gnawing me.

I am dragged out of my thoughts by a throat clear and it's Katie. She is standing outside a car which looks familiar to me.

"Wow, you look gorgeous. You were right you didn't need any shopping"

Katie is wearing a crop top with cute shorts and she looks ruggedly awesome.

"Thank you, your shorts are super cute." I say honestly.

She giggled and motions me to enter the car.

She tells me to enter the shotgun which is weird because everyone wants the shotgun.

I look at her with a raised eyebrow. "There is no catch to it dear. I just don't like the shotgun. Ya, I know it's weird but what can I do 'weird' is my middle name."

I smile lightly and enter the car. To my surprise I find Jordan on the wheel beaming at me.

"Wow sugar plum, you look hot." he says winking at me.

"Thanks" I say sheepishly and can't hide the burn in my cheeks.

Quite satisfied with the reaction Jordan turns on the engine and turns into the highway.

The air is filled with awkwardness and I shift in my seat uncomfortably. I try to break the silence.

"Umm.. guys why is everyone so quiet. What's up?" I say looking at the back. Katie is blankly staring at the screensaver on her phone.

"Katie are you really sure it's ok? Both of them are gonna bite our heads off" Jordan says with turning and looking at the road.

"It's ok dude. The gang is finally complete. No secret remains a secret forever. It has to spill out" Katie says looking outside at the trees and houses running by.

Gang?? What gang? Maybe I am overthinking this. It's a friendly friend gang obviously.

It's so stupid that I am even thinking about this. This is not a cliche dramatic episode of some series.

I look at Jordan hoping that he would clear the air but I am left alone looking at him.

He finally looks at me and says "it's nothing cupcake, just some talk about old friends"

The car suddenly stops and I rush out to get some fresh air.

Phew!! That was really something back there.

I turn around and hit a wall and I hear an oomph.

I look up and lose myself in swirls of sea green and then I realize.

I just signed my death warrant. It's doomsday.
