(16) Chaos

Kristen's POV

Dax!?

"W-why do you have a gun in your hand? What's going on" I gasp.

And then I see Brandon right behind Dax with a furious look in his eyes. Daxton had ignored my questions and was looking dead straight at chuck and I could feel him tightening the hold on his gun.

I stand there frozen and highly confused. It was my night out.
Why is Chuck here and on top of that why is Daxton here and the biggest question why are these guys pointing guns at each other and why the hell am I in between??

I whipped my head back when I heard Chuck say "well well well, look who's here. The Reed siblings and... Oh! Mr. McKnight"

Just then Katie, Jordan, and Justin entered the whole scene.

"Oh! Things just got juicier. My enemies ganging up together. Things just got to a whole new level" he smiled.

"Think before you act Chuck and let Kristen go. Now!"Brandon snarls.

"Daxton Reed" I call out again with strictness.

"Not now Kristen" he answered back without even giving me a glance and staring at Chuck.

I look at Brandon and his eyes soften for a moment when he looks at me as if he is telling me to calm down.

Calm down? To hell with it!!!

No one tells me what is going on? Fine. I'll get the answers I need on my own.

In a swift motion, I get close to Chuck and kick the gun out of his hand and I smile at him evilly as I slide the gun away.

He looks at the gun and in a split second, he grabs hold of me and puts me in a chokehold.

The guys and Katie come closer and were about to surround us when several men with guns rush into the scene and I do not like the looks on their faces.

Chuck's grip was pretty tight and I'm sure this is gonna leave some goddammed marks and bruises.

The confusion and the rage that I managed a headbutt.

I'm free.

I run towards Daxton and do not forget to elbow Chuck in the guts in the process which felt sweet because he was gasping for air while he was on his knees.

"After them!!"

I felt like the whole bloody hell was raining down upon us. The firing came from everywhere.

Only a single word could explain this whole mess. Chaos.

Some of the party members hadn't cleared out and clearly wanted their blood spill because they had been standing and watching the whole time with red cups. Only the chaos that split open could make them flee like their lives were on the line. Which is true.

I bump into quite a few of them and lose my balance making me fall. I could see a guy with a gun taking aim at me.

Just before I could close my eyes I was hauled up and half dragged out of the house.

It was Brandon.

I got springs in my legs and gained speed as we were now out on the streets and everyone was scattered.

As soon as  Brandon noticed that we were being tailed, we both took off.

I look back to find Dax and others just behind us. Me, Brandon and Jordan were running fairly close to each other and the whole time Brandon didn't loosen his hold on my hand.

Awwww

Julian, Dax, and Katie were a bit behind us and at the last, the men were following them.

Soon we hit an intersection where the road split in two and the third side was the start of the forest.

"Split up and run and meet at the base as soon as possible or make a call. Make sure that you're not followed and be safe."Dax shouted as he was catching up with us and signaled us to enter the forest.

I jumped into the woods without thinking and sprinted off after looking at Dax who gave me a concerned look.

I kept on running when I noticed that others were not with me.

Shitttt.

I came in alone. Now I gotta do this alone. I was in too much hurry that I didn't notice that Brandon and others didn't come after me. Or they couldn't because of the people that were following us.

Did I just enter a parallel universe cause I'm sure I didn't order a platter of chaos and confusion?

I could hear rustling behind me. It could just be a bunny but I was not ready to take chances so, I run again dodging past trees and shrubs and going deeper and deeper into the woods.

When I was sure nothing was behind me I slowed down a bit and started to walk. More like wandered aimlessly and alert at the same time.

I hope the others are safe cause I need them alive to slap them and make them spill the tea on everything that has been going on.

It started to get darker and darker. The darkness was closing in on me at a fast pace because of the thick canopies above me.

I need to find a way before I hit a total blackout. And of course, I can't forget the fact that I'm wearing a dress and heels which is very uncomfortable and painful.

After some more of wandering, I thought I was walking in on some people who were talking in low voices.

Weren't the men behind me?

Again, I could just be walking in circles the whole time. I thought for a second.

Now it is my chance. They could have supplies that I need to survive.

I was ready. They try anything funny I will knock the living daylights out of them if I have to.

What's gonna happen next? Is Kristen doing the right thing by thinking of ambushing the men for supplies? Is she gonna be safe??
