camden's pov

"you brought the weed?" sam asks me.

"here." i nod as i slap a small ziplock baggie in his hand. "i got it from some freshman in high school."

sam examines the bag by opening it and sniffing it. he lets out a deep sigh and smacks it at my head, causing the green flakes to fly everywhere.

"what the fuck, dude!" i yell, rubbing my head.

"it's literally fucking oregano. you paid for oregano."

i grab a piece that fell on my lap and sniff it, causing my nose to fill with a garlicky herbal scent.

"i think this is thyme." i correct him and he screams.

"i don't care what type of motherfucking spice it is, camwhore!" he glares at me.

"chill, i still have some weed at my house, let's just walk and go get it."

"fine, you need to burn off some calories anyway, pudgy ass." he says as he gets out the car.

"wha- you just mad that i have an ass, unlike you. your ass is inverted." i defend myself.

mia coincidentally comes outside of jack's house as we step on the sidewalk.

"mia! we were about to go spark a blunt at my place, wanna come?" i wave.

she lets out a small gasp once she sees us. my smile drops once i examine her face. her eyes are red and puffy and her mascara is smeared.

"hey... are you crying?" i ask as i walk closer to her.

she shakes her head, but her eyes start becoming glossier.

"yes you are. what's wrong, mia?" sam asks.

she parts her mouth to respond but all that comes out is a choked up sniffle.

"come here." i open my arms at her.

she accepts my hug and burrows her face into my hoodie, her small arms wrapping around my waist. i place my chin on her head to comfort her as she lets out quiet hiccups.

sam rubs circles on her back, which calms her down. she lifts her head and takes a deep breath.

"i'm sorry. this is so ugly of me." she frowns as she wipes her tears away.

"don't be sorry mia, the fuck. what the hell happened in there?" sam asks. "did jack do something?"

"well, not intentionally." she sighs.

mia's pov

i sit down on the footsteps of the house and they copy my actions, both of them sitting on either side of me.

"why are johnson and sophia even here?" i complain.

"i have no idea. they've always showed up for thanksgiving but i didn't know that sophia had the balls to show up after what happened." sam says.
