Chapter 8: The weekend

Jess's POV 

I woke up early on Saturday. No, I did not have an alarm. 7 am is not the time I wanted to wake up but I did and that is that. I'm like most people. I can never go back to sleep once my eyes are open. Tough luck. Today is also the day I start working. I get up and grab my phone and purse and head downstairs. In the kitchen, Jake is eating and I get myself some fruit loops. Jake looks up and sees me. 

"Hello Jess" Jake said. 

"Hey Jake" I replied.

"How are you?" Jake asked. 

"Fine" I said. 

"You're not fine" Jake said. 

"I have work" I said. 

"Where?" Jake asked. 

"Ropes" I said. "I'm a fulltime weekend employee" 

"And what about tonight?" Jake asked. 

"I have plans" I said curtly. 

"Well have fun" Jake said, while shaking his head. 

"Jake, we are just going to talk" I said. 

He just shakes his head and walks away. I can't stand him sometimes. I get in my car and head over to Liv's. When I get there, Liv, Emily, and Nate are sitting in the car waiting for me. I grab my stuff from my front seat and go over to Nate's car. He lets me in and we head off. When we get to Ropes it's about 8:30 and we just talk in the staff room till 9. Then we get ready for the class. People start trickling in around 9:30. First, Harry walks in. 

"Hey guys" Harry said.

"Hey" I reply. 

Harry goes and stands by the entrance to the walls. Then, Jessica walks in. 

"Omg hey Jess" Jessica said. 

"Hey" I said, equally excited. 

"I can't believe you are one of the employees here" Jessica said. 

"Wait till you see who the last employee for this class is" I said. "He's not here yet" 

"Ok" Jessica said.

Jessica goes and stands near Harry. Then Luke walks in.

"A bit late mister?" Nate asked. 

"I got stuck in traffic" Luke said. 

"Right" Liv said. 

"Jessica, here he is" I call out.

Jessica looks up and sees Luke. Her smile turns into a frown. She walks over to us. 

"This is the other employee for this class?" Jessica asked. 

I rolled my eyes at her.

"I'm so sorry" Jessica said. 

"It's fine. I can handle it" I lied. 

Liv and Emily just stare at me. We already went over this. I need to lie. 

"Ok" Jessica said. 

Then Louis walks in. 

"Hey Harry. Hey Jessica. Hey Jess. Hey Liv. Hey Nate." Louis said. 

"Hey" We all chorus. 

"So are you ready for this Jess?" Louis asked me. 

"Of course I am" I lied again. 

He stares at me. Can anybody not stare at me? We also went over this. Then at 9:55 the most unexpected person walks in. Niall. He walks up to us with his head down. He doesn't say anything but neither does anyone else. Liv unlocks the entrance gate and lets everyone inside. Nate, Luke, Emily, and I follow behind her then the students follow behind us. Niall looks up and sees me. His expression goes from happy to shocked to angry. I shrug and walk away.
