Chapter 10: Matt

Jess's POV

I walked into Ropes to "train". Liv and Emily came with me. When we walk in we see Niall, attempting to climb on his own.

"Hey Niall" I call out.

He turns around and comes over to us.

"Hey Jess" Niall said.

"You attempting to learn on your own?" Liv said a bit too loudly.

Everyone who heard her started laughing, even me.

"Yes" Niall said.

"Well, it was nice seeing you" Emily said.

"Same to you" Niall said.

We walk towards the training room. When we get there, Matt and the other trainors, Nicole, Samantha, Sam, Ross, and Miranda were talking. When Liv, Emily, and I walk in all heads look up.

"Hey guys" I said.

"Hey" Everyone said back.

I go to the range and pick the wall I want to climb. I have Liv time my climb up. I got up in 12 seconds. By that time, Matt had gotten up and come over. I climbed back down. I did not expect what happened next.

"Jess, will you go out with me?" Matt asked.

"Sure" I said.

"Dinner at 7. Picking you up at 6." Matt said.

I roll my eyes at Liv and Emily. We just start laughing.

"What?" Matt asked.

I can't stop laughing to explain. Matt and I exchange numbers. Well, Niall can suck his dick if he gets jealous because it was his fault we broke up not mine. Not to mention that Dan is still going to give Niall some advice which all dicks need to hear. Yep, you read that right, and if you didn't you can reread it and reread it until you are sure you read right but that's not my problem. And I plan on telling Dan today anyway. Finally, we stop laughing.

"Matt, so back when Jess...." Liv started but I interrupted.

"LIV" I shouted.

"Jess, calm down. I wasn't going to tell him" Liv said.

"Good" I said.

"Something happened" Matt said.

"And you can't know it about it baby" I said.

"Wow Jess" Emily said.

"He's Matt. It's fine" I said.

"What?" Matt asked.

Liv rolls her eyes at me and Emily. We start laughing again. So many memories. Matt just stares at us.

"Too many memories" Emily said.

"Yea" I said.

"Jess, I want to tell him so bad" Liv said.

A phone goes off. It's mine. Harry flashes across the screen.

"It's Harry" I said.

"Then reply idiot" Liv said.

"Liv, shut up" I snapped.

Matt looks away.

*text convo*

H: heard from Louis that u broke up w/ niall

J: yea I did

H: Im not gonna b surprised if u arent single rn

J: hahaha ik and im not

H: who

J: Matt, one of the trainors and in my grade

H: good 4 u

J: He is taking me to dinner 2nite. @ 7. pick up @ 6. Remind u of something?

H: lmao

J: that's wat Liv, Emily, and I did

J: Liv started to tell that story but I stopped her

H: good idea

J: ttyl

H: ttyl

"Jess" Emily said, pointing towards Matt.

"Matt, Harry is just one of my friends. He was checking up on me" I partially lied.

He nodded. We walked towards the front door. Matt and I were holding hands. Niall saw us and had to turn away. We all smirked then started to laugh.

Niall's POV

They walked back up to the front. Matt was holding Jess's hand. I turned away. Then I heard laughing. I'm done. Done with her.

Jess's POV

My phone buzzes. I pull out my phone and Emily sees the name. ZAYN.

"Ugh" Emily said,

"Answer it if you have to" Liv said.

"Is it really a problem?" I asked.

J: better

Z: single?

J: nah

Z: fuck girl u a boy attracting machine

I showed Emily and Liv that message and we cracked up laughing. Matt looks at us and shakes his head. I smile back at him and he turns away.

J: :)

Z: who is it now

J: Matt

Z: senior matt?

J: my neighbor across the street and yea

Z: haha luv ya

J: luv ya 2

Z: g2g i think I have a jealous niall waiting

I show that text message to Emily and Liv also and we again start laughing. Matt again shakes his head.

Niall's POV

I leave Ropes. I get home and want to scream. What if I hadn't said what I said? What if I was a senior? What if I killed Matt? Those questions just kept running through my head. I text Zayn.
