Chapter 5: Leigh's P.O.V.

"Leigh!" My best friends Shanna and Austin ran up to me. "You didn't tell me you were going to the dance with Conner!" Shanna exclaims.

"Yeah why are you going with that idiot anyway?" Austin asks.

"I wanted to go with him and he agreed to go." I told them.

"More like forced him." Shanna rolled her eyes.

"I did not!"

"Scott!" Austin says.

"Hey." Scott walked up from behind a crowd of weird geeky guys.

"Your going out with Rachel! I was the one who suggested she ask you to the dance." I proudly announced.

"Let's go." Shanna said, walking towards the door.

"Rachel call me!" I scream over the people talking as I walk away.

"So did you hear Max at lunch today. Oh my god I wanted to kill him! He wouldn't shut up about me and Conner. Neither would Nina. But Nina never shuts up." I said.

"So true. She's such a blabber mouth." Scott said.

"Agreed." I told him as we walked up to the car.

Shanna's mom was picking us up today.

"Mrs. Shari guess what!" I exclaimed as we got in the car.

I tell Mrs. Shari everything. I tell her what's up with school, annoying kids in my class, what mean girls tell me. And she tells me what to do and what not to do, and gives me advice about mean girls, annoying kids and who aren't good people to hang around. So it felt only right to tell her about me and Conner.

"What?"

"We're having a valentines dance, and me and Conner are going." I tried to stay calm while telling her.

"Cool. Shanna who are you going with?"

"No one mom. I don't want to go, plus I have plans with Marie anyway."

"Oh yeah your going to the beach. Austin are you going with anyone?" She inquired.

"No, but Scott's going with Rachel." He replied.

"Well Scott, and Leigh it sounds like y'all will have a lot of fun at the dance!"

"I know I will." I assured her, as she pulled into my driveway and I got my backpack and got out of the car.

I pulled out my phone, a new text message from Conner.
