"Mom. Me and Leigh, we're twins?" I question her, shocked.

"Yes."

"But we just started dating, and she coming to live with us and-"

"Conner I know this is a lot to take it at once. Your dad is alive, and your girlfriend is your twin. But you and Leigh can come here anytime you need and I will be happy to help you. You are like a son to me, just how Leigh was a daughter to me. But you were never adopted but I knew when I first met you that you were extraordinary and Leigh saw that too. You might not think so but your going to impact a lot of people. Your special." Leigh's adopted mom, Mrs. Grace preached to me.

"Thank you, but I believe I'm just like the rest of the world."

Her adoptive dad started talking.

"Conner. I know me and you don't talk much, but whenever you came over I saw that little spark in you that she was talking about. Your unique. Your going to change the world. I believe in you. And I have a request."

"Yes sir, anything you need." I was surprised he talked to me, he never usually does unless to ask me about me, but not like that.

"Take care of Leigh. Protect her with your life. Make sure she does the right things. And when we said we'll be right here this is the time you will ever see us. We are leaving. I want you to take care of you and your sister. No matter what happens, keep her safe. And remember you are unique. You were like a son to me. I hope your life is a good as it can be. Adios amigo. See you on the other side." His request seemed like hard work but I could do it for Leigh.

"Wait."

"Yes Conner?"

"You can't leave. I remember Leigh would sometimes call me crying that you were being mean to her, and I would make her laugh the next minute. But even if she doesn't forgive you, I do. Thank you for showing me what you did. You are incredible. And I'll see you on the other side." I told him and gave him a hug.

"Conner, I'll miss watching Leigh look at you the way she does. And you don't forget me. And I won't forget you. Promise?" He asked.

"I promise I will never forget you. Never ever. And I will guard Leigh with my life. I promise."

"Goodbye Conner, the special one." Her adoptive dad told me.

"Goodbye."

And like that he was gone and never to be seen again.

I walked to Leigh's room.

"Hey." I said quietly.

She sat on a stool guitar in her lap crying.

"Leigh, you were right. I am special. And you are too." I told her softly.

"I have loved your family but I never thought I was your family. And there's nothing we can do." She told me.

She picked up the guitar and started playing it and then started singing.
